Shadley Praises the Franchise Sales Organization as an Industry Leader

Franchise FastLane, a turn-key franchise sales organization (FSO), has named Joy Shadley Senior Vice President of Marketing. Reporting directly to President and COO Tim Koch, Shadley will guide the marketing team in driving brand visibility, customer engagement and overall growth. She is an experienced marketing veteran with more than a decade of C-suite experience.

“I’m very excited to join the team at Franchise FastLane, an organization that has earned a well-deserved reputation as the undisputed industry leader among franchise sales organizations,” Shadley said. “I hope to bring a dynamic mindset and out-of-the-box thinking to an organization that’s already established a highly successful and efficient marketing operation. Each of the high-performing brands in Franchise FastLane’s portfolio deserve nothing less, and we hope to elevate their profiles even further as we look to drive growth at both the unit and multi-unit level.”

The opportunity to work with FastLane’s experienced leadership team is the most gratifying aspect of this new role, Shadley said. “To see what they have accomplished so far was extremely impressive, and I’m super excited about where we will go next,” she said. “The position was created as part of our look-forward strategy to provide all of our customers and partners the best possible solutions, marketing and support in the industry, and I am so humbled to be chosen to lead the team in this endeavor.”

“With the addition of Joy Shadley to lead our marketing department, our organization is now fully staffed and prepared to accelerate our brand awareness outreach efforts,” Koch said. “Our executive leadership team is impressed with her credentials, expertise and her previous management experience with several high-profile companies. I speak for all of us when I say we’re greatly looking forward to Joy’s contributions and the many different ways our franchise brands will benefit from her impressive knowledge and experience.”

Franchising and the American Dream

Shadley said her introduction to franchising came from her uncle, who grew his franchise business for four decades and created generational wealth for his family. “I love that the spirit of the American Dream of mastering your own destiny is at the heart of the possibilities that franchising provides,” she said.

Shadley’s experience includes work in insurance, software as a service (SaaS), finance and consumer packaged goods industries – all while maintaining an independent consulting practice. During her time as fractional COO of Ignyte2Grow Partners, Shadley worked with multiple startup companies and entrepreneurial clients, helping them scale operations, determine optimal go-to-market strategies and more. She also has served in marketing positions with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska, Hudl, Docplanner and GameChanger.

Data-Driven Marketing

Shadley said her 25-plus years in marketing have been rewarding because she loves problem solving and fulfilling unmet needs for customers. “I’m equally invested in using data to identify trends as I am to start each project from a consumer insight, and marketing is a career that lets me blend natural curiosity with creativity,” she said.

The key for franchisors to take their marketing to the next level is to focus on their customer base’s motivations and then deliver a solution that makes day-to-day life easier, Shaeley said. “It really all starts with understanding your customer and market.”

As someone who values lifelong learning, Shadley earned a bachelor’s degree in international business from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and completed executive MBA coursework at Northwestern University. She also makes an effort to travel to a new country every year to experience a different culture, meet the locals, immerse herself in the food scene and understand different perspectives. When she’s off the clock, the mother of five coaches volleyball and enjoys attending her children’s sporting events.
