Lanni Brings More than 15 Years of Franchise Experience to the Role
Hounds Town USA, a doggy daycare and boarding concept, promoted Scott Lanni to vice president of operations. Lanni’s new role builds upon his experience as the pet care brand’s senior director of franchise support. He brings more than 15 years of franchise experience to the role. Other additions to the Hounds Town leadership team include David Martinelli as chief relationship officer and Amanda Moore as vice president of marketing.
Lanni looks forward to getting the entire operations team on the same page and moving Hounds Town into a position of growth and leadership in the pet care industry. Growing up, he and his family always had dogs. Lanni learned as an adult pet parent that dogs were much more work and responsibility than he realized as a child. “But I found I enjoyed that responsibility, and the ‘work’ was actually relaxing and fulfilling,” Lanni says.
Lanni, along with his wife and son, have even raised puppies to become guide dogs, which is a completely different experience than simply being a pet parent, he added. “These dogs were one day going to change someone’s life! That love of dogs I’ve always had grew into admiration and appreciation for them, as well. When I saw the opportunity at Hounds Town, it felt like the perfect chance for me to combine my skills in franchising and my experience with dogs.”

Lanni’s Franchising Experience
Prior to joining Hounds Town, Lanni has worked with franchise brands including Pinch A Penny Pools, Doc Popcorn, and Ultra Pool Care. He has worked for many years in the experiential marketing field, leading small teams that have direct interactions with customers. He believes that these micro-interactions do more for the brands than glitzy ad campaigns can. When he transitioned into franchising at Pinch A Penny Pool Supplies, Lanni approached everything from that same experiential marketing field mentality.
To Lanni, franchisors looking to improve their marketing initiatives need to provide open and honest communication and feedback to the franchise system. “I like to say that in order for us to have all dogs pulling in the same direction, they need to know the destination.”
