Franchise’s Cutting-Edge Technology Benefits Both Patients and Owners
- Technology keeps HealthSource America’s Chiropractor a step ahead of its competitors.
- Before adopting an innovation in chiropractic care, multiple HealthSource locations field-test the technology.
- Franchisees enjoy broad support and instruction; corporate stays attuned to their feedback.
Continuous technology improvements bring the latest advances in care to HealthSource America’s Chiropractor patients and the best operational software to franchisees. HealthSource’s CEO and chief operating officer say new technology — with its effectiveness carefully confirmed before implementation — will keep the brand growing and staying ahead of competitors. (REP’M Group, a franchise growth and sales firm, is assisting HealthSource’s development.)
“Since its inception, HealthSource has been the leader in delivering state-of-the-art care in our profession,” says CEO Chris Tomshack, the chiropractic doctor who began franchising his brand in 2006. “Our patients want to feel better and move better. Because of the technology incorporated into our model, we are the only organization with a 99% patient satisfaction rating.”

HealthSource patient care goes way beyond chiropractic adjustment, Tomshack says. “Wellness care is so much more than that. Given the technology we use with our patients, we can provide systemic wellness plans, including nutritional supplements, that can improve movement, performance and even sleep. Simply put, we’re five to 10 years ahead of the other chiropractic models.
“HealthSource has a central ethos of constant and never-ending improvement in all that we provide to our patients and to our franchise partners. This propels us to be aware of all rehab innovations. Even before new technology hits the market, we know which ones will benefit our system. We don’t innovate for the sake of innovating – we innovate so that every single year our entire model is better than the year prior.”
COO Cris Casazza further explains the franchise’s tech motivation. “HealthSource doesn’t just provide franchisees with tools; we provide them with clarity. Every new system or platform is designed around one goal — making it easier for clinic owners to focus on their patients and their team, while we handle the complexity behind the curtain, whether it’s data dashboards that simplify decision-making, AI-driven sales automation that keep leads flowing, or patient membership models that generate predictable revenue. We vet and pilot everything.”

Leading Innovation in Chiropractic Care
Tomshack takes the lead on tech upgrades. “I travel the world attending conferences put on by top scientists and the leading minds regarding healing musculoskeletal injuries, because that’s what we treat all day long. This allows me to know about upcoming innovations well before they reach the market.
“We thoroughly alpha-test to ensure the new technology improves the outcomes for the millions of patients we serve. Only those that do so will move on to beta testing. During beta tests at five to 18 HealthSource locations over four to six months, the innovation or new tech must again clearly demonstrate an improved patient outcome and demonstrate it will improve the average unit revenue for each location. When all these conditions are met, we begin a system-wide rollout. This due diligence keeps us at the forefront of chiropractic.”
Casazza says franchisees have a loud voice in franchise innovations. “Our best innovations have come from listening to what clinic owners are wrestling with and then designing solutions that scale. A lot of what you see in our business model, our training cadence and even our reporting tools came directly from franchisees asking the question, ‘Could there be an even better way?’ We invite candor, which is why HealthSource evolves faster than the industry. The clinic owners in our network aren’t just operators — they’re co-authors of the playbook.”
AI on the Horizon
Looking ahead, HealthSource leaders and owners will leverage artificial intelligence for franchise innovation. “We are aggressively working to determine how to harness AI to both run a better business and provide a better patient result,” Tomshack says. “The pace of innovation on this front is mind-blowing. We are pursuing quite a few potential integrations currently, with many more on the horizon as they become commercially available.”
He adds that AI is helping HealthSource innovate faster with its proprietary nutrition products as well as enhancement of clinical and business outcomes. “AI is destined to dramatically overhaul and upgrade the field of chiropractic,” Tomshack says. “In the next five years, AI will revolutionize chiropractic, and HealthSource will be on the leading edge of AI use in the innovation of chiropractic care.”
Support for Franchisees
While Tomshack and Casazza embrace technology with a passion, they don’t neglect the human side of the HealthSource mission. “We’ve built a support infrastructure that’s part mentorship, part accountability,” Casazza says. “Every clinic has a pair of field business coaches who support business and clinical operations. Clinic visits from the corporate team are a cultural requirement that ensures all franchisees and their teams feel individually seen and heard. From Mastermind groups to regular webinars and newsletters, we aim to be the definition of support in the franchise world.”
Training complements HealthSource’s technology, Casazza says. “You can have the most advanced systems in the world, but if people don’t understand why or how to use them, they become shelfware. We’ve turned training into a culture, not a checklist. Weekly Tuesday Trainings, live workshops and digital playbooks connect everyone to what’s working now. We keep the message simple: If it doesn’t improve patient outcomes, team performance or clinic profitability, it doesn’t make the agenda.
“Our clinics are built to win long-term because we combine a proven operational model with ongoing innovation in marketing, patient retention and clinical outcomes. We’re redefining what it means to scale in health care, by blending heart, data and discipline. It’s not just a better way to run a chiropractic clinic — it’s a smarter way to build a health care business that lasts.”
Future of HealthSource
Market factors also figure into a bright outlook for HealthSource. The global market for chiropractic care reached about $41.2 billion last year and is expected to grow at a compound annual rate of 3.6% from now through 2030, according to MarketResearch.com. The U.S. portion of the global market was $11.1 billion in 2024. Ohio-based HealthSource is riding that wave. It has about 140 units in operation, and REP’M is aiding growth.
