Palm Beach Atlantic University’s Entrepreneurial Program Cultivates Future Franchise Leaders
The Titus Center for Franchising at Palm Beach Atlantic University awarded scholarships to five standout students at the center’s November 2023 advisory board meeting in West Palm Beach, Fla. Each one of these $2,500 competitive scholarships is either funded by or given in honor of high-profile franchise industry professionals.
In a news release announcing the scholarships, Dr. John P. Hayes, who is the Titus Center Director and a certified franchise executive, thanked donors for providing the financial aid to the center’s students. “Thanks to our generous benefactors, Titus Center has once again been able to financially assist five of our outstanding students,” he said. “Our total scholarship endowment is approaching $400,000. We use only interest from the endowed funds to pay scholarships. Our goal is to attract five more benefactors and exceed $1 million for our scholarship fund.”
And the Winners Are…
The news release from the Titus Center, which is a program at Palm Beach Atlantic University, identified the scholarship recipients as follows:
- Delaney Hetzer (below, center) was awarded the Don Dwyer Sr. Scholarship, which is named after the late founder of The Dwyer Group franchise. Hetzer was lauded for being a highly committed Titus Center intern who constantly proves his leadership abilities and has “a strong understanding of the franchise ecosystem.”
- Carson Quinn (below, center), a senior who completed many internships while attending Palm Beach Atlantic University, was presented the J.J. Prendamano Scholarship. This scholarship honors the memory of the late J.J. Prendamano, who had served as a leader at United Franchise Group. The Prendamano scholarship acknowledges Quinn’s dedication to franchising.
- Student athlete Alessia Passerini (below, left) was chosen to get the Seiber Family Scholarship. The scholarship is funded by Geoff and Sherri Seiber, who are executives of FranFund Inc. They praised Passerini’s academic and sports accomplishments in selecting her to receive their scholarship.
- Frida Alsterhem (below, center), who has shined in academics, athletics and leadership, received the Chick-Fil-A West Palm Beach Scholarship. Chick-Fil-A franchisee Rob Morris funded her scholarship.
- Mark Hanna (below, left) was given the Kobel Family Scholarship, which was endowed by Ed and Becky Kobel. The Kobel Family Scholarship aims to empower the next generation of young leaders, and Hanna was cited “for his commitment to making a positive impact in the franchising world.”
“All of us at the Titus Center for Franchising congratulate Delaney, Carson, Alessia, Frida and Mark for their achievements,” Hayes stated in the news release. “These outstanding students represent the future of franchising, and we are confident that their passion and dedication will contribute to the continued success and innovation of the franchise methodology.”
