Thompson is Optimistic about the Future of the Beauty and Wellness Industry

Radiance Holdings, franchisor of Woodhouse Spas and Sola Salons, has appointed Scott Thompson as its chief development officer. Thompson brings more than two decades of experience to the position and oversees Radiance’s franchise sales, real estate and site selection, construction and design, and legal services. His new position was announced along with those of Ben Jones as CEO of Radiance Holdings and Ariel Clay as COO of Woodhouse Spas. 

“I have always had a love for health, wellness and beauty,” Thompson said, adding that his undergraduate degree was in exercise physiology and his mother was a hairdresser. He said he plans to use skills and experience gained as a franchisee, multi-unit operator, area director, consultant, franchisor executive and board member to drive the growth of Radiance.

Jones said prospective franchisees are in good hands with Thompson at the helm. “Scott understands how to take care of candidates, from a smooth and successful sales experience to site selection, construction and opening. I’m excited to watch Scott lead our two brands, Woodhouse Spas and Sola Salons, into our next phase of growth,” Jones said.

Private Equity and Franchising

Radiance’s growth is fostered by backing from TSG Consumer Partners, “an amazing partner focused on creating value for all stakeholders,” Thompson said. “Private equity will continue to help franchising become more and more professionalized leveraging technology, data and systems.” 

He noted the growing self-care trend among consumers, and said he is optimistic about the beauty and wellness industry’ future. “Radiance will continue to focus on bringing joy through beauty and putting smiles on customers’ faces.”

Thompson previously served as president of Premier Martial Arts, part of the Unleashed Brands family. His experience also includes serving as vice president of franchise development for Maid Right, senior vice president of global franchise development for Tutor Doctor, and CDO and managing director for Level 5 Capital, overseeing Big Blue Swim School, Heyday, Restore Hyper-Wellness, KidStrong and GoDog.Thompson holds a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Georgia and teaches “Principles of Franchising” as an instructor at UGA’s Terry School of Business.

He resides in the Peach State with his wife, Elana, their 9-year-old son, Miles, and their 15-year-old pug, Lucy. Thompson enjoys coaching Miles’ baseball team, skiing with Elana and exploring new restaurants.
