Rebrand Includes AI-driven Enhancements and a New Menu

In the vast sea of fast-food options, Pita Pit was the first of its kind with its Mediterranean concept, offering consumers a more health-conscious choice in its made-to-order pita sandwiches. Pita Pit’s innovation continues today with a recently announced brand refresh, featuring a reimagined menu, technological advances, modernized restaurant design and drive-through business model, and new logo.

The rebrand is essential to Pita Pit’s growth strategy as it seeks single-unit and multi-unit franchisees who have a passion for the brand and a commitment to innovation in the rapidly changing restaurant industry. Pita Pit is focused on strengthening the brand across the U.S., actively looking to increase its footprint in existing markets including Denver, Salt Lake City, and Boise, Idaho.

Founded in 1995 in Kingston, Ontario, Pita Pit’s “fresh thinking, healthy eating” motto caught on fast as the brand developed a cult-like following among consumers who sought the healthy alternatives offered in Lebanese-style sandwiches packed with vegetables, grilled meats and zesty sauces.

Within two years, Pita Pit franchises opened across Canada and, within another two years, the brand expanded into the U.S. Today, there are 75 locations across the U.S., including Hawaii and Alaska, which are among more than 450 Pita Pit stores in North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific.

Innovation is Key in Restaurant Industry

“As we embark on this exciting journey of transformation, we are attuned to the evolving needs of our consumers,” says Peter Riggs, CEO of Pita Pit. “Today, more than ever, there is a demand for fast, convenient and health-conscious food options. Our rebrand reflects an unwavering commitment to meeting these demands head-on, offering not only delicious pitas, but a fast-food experience that aligns seamlessly with modern lifestyles.”

The new drive-through model not only offers greater convenience for consumers by accommodating delivery and pick-up orders, but also provides franchisees broader real estate options. The smaller footprint of about 800-1,000 square feet can be more flexible in fitting a variety of layouts and also requires less financial commitment from franchisees.

Pita Pit is also undergoing a full technological transformation that includes adopting the power of artificial intelligence (AI) to create new brand assets and provide cutting-edge technology solutions for more streamlined operations such as tailored point-of-sale systems and comprehensive training to optimize efficiency and customer service. Also, the Pita Pit app simplifies ordering and payment for consumers, while offering customization options and order tracking.

While staying true to its Mediterranean roots, Pita Pit’s reimagined menu includes sandwiches with richer flavors and more complementary ingredients. New to the menu is the Greek Grilled Cheese, which includes these varieties:

• Say Cheese Greek Grilled Cheese, including mozzarella and cheddar melted in a pita seared in avocado oil with a choice of meat, toppings or both.

A Healthier Fast Food

At the time the first Pita Pit opened almost 30 years ago, fast food typically was loaded with calories, sodium and unhealthy fats. Indeed, “healthy fast food” was an oxymoron. Pita Pit, founded on the principals of quality ingredients, convenience and flavor innovation, offered an alternative for health-conscious consumers.

While the brand does not claim to adhere strictly to the popular Mediterranean diet, Pita Pit does incorporate many ingredients and techniques that contribute to the Mediterranean diet’s heart-healthiness, including fresh vegetables; whole grains such as quinoa, as in the newly introduced bruschetta bowl; healthy fats including avocado oil, and the use of herbs and spices to boost flavor, reducing the need for salt.

Another element that’s key to the Mediterranean diet involves sharing meals with family and friends, which Pita Pit heartily recommends! For additional information about franchising with Pita Pit, visit https://pitapitusa.com/franchising.
