While franchise brands are known for good deals and festive products during the holiday season, the following businesses never miss an opportunity to give back. Partnering with nonprofit organizations and involving customers in fun promotions are just a few ways business owners can spread joy within the communities they serve. Many of these entrepreneurs make it their mission to be charitable year-round, but there’s nothing like giving children the joy of opening a present or providing deserving families with delicious holiday meals.

Franchise Brands Give Back for the 2023 Holidays

To end the year with bang, the Blo Blow Dry Bar franchise is hosting a “That’s a Wrap” contest to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Through Dec. 31, the beauty and wellness franchise invites social media users to document their favorite looks of 2023 for a chance to win more than $1,400 worth of prizes, including a year-long membership to their local Blo Blow Dry Bar location. To enter, like and/or comment on the contest post on Instagram, follow @bloheartsyou, and tag the brand in the post or story recreating your favorite 2023 look. The winner will be announced on Jan. 2, 2024.

Chicken Salad Chick’s annual charitable program, The Giving Card, is back for the seventh consecutive year to support local food charities and childhood cancer research. For $5, the Giving Card offers guests exclusive in-store rewards through the Chicken Salad Chick Craving Credits app. Local food organizations chosen by Chicken Salad Chick franchise owners and company stores receive 75% of the sales from the Giving Card, with 25% going to CURE Childhood Cancer.

L&L Hawaiian Barbecue

The L&L Hawaiian Barbecue franchise is extending its Purchase A Meal program through the holidays. The community initiative was originally launched in response to the Maui wildfires that occurred in August 2023. From Sept. 1-15, more than 2,000 meals were donated to families on Maui through L&L’s website and app, according to a press release.

While Meals of Hope serves meals year-round, the meal-packaging franchise has a special program for the holidays. Meals of Hope’s Holidays Without Hunger events provide food in Southwest Florida. 


While many organizations gain attention for their holiday giving on a national level, PrideStaff proves that charity starts at home. Through its Spirit of the Holidays Program, The PrideStaff Cos. gave $1,000 in gift cards to a family in need. This gift was the largest collected since the program’s inception over 27 years ago. PrideStaff founder George Rogers established the Spirit of the Holidays Program to anonymously help families in need. 

Rogers’ own organization, The George and Melodie Rogers Foundation, has donated $1.5 million to the nonprofit Fresno Mission. The contribution will help the nonprofit provide safe haven, food, shelter and services.


Proforma, a marketing solutions provider, is celebrating the 2023 holiday season by continuing its long-standing tradition of giving to children in need. In partnership with the nonprofit Joshua House, Proforma provided over $1,500 worth of holiday gifts to improve the lives of children across the Tampa Bay area, according to a press release.

The PuroClean restoration franchise gave joy to children over the 2023 holiday season with its PuroClean Cares: Season of Giving toy drive campaign. The holiday initiative involves the restoration brand and local businesses donating the toys to Kids In Distress, a nationally accredited organization dedicated to preventing child abuse, preserving families, and treating neglected children. 

Waxing The City

Franchise Brands Give Back for the 2023 Holidays

To give the gift of a good shave, guests at participating Waxing The City locations can donate an unopened razor for $10 off select waxing services. The campaign lasts through Dec. 31. 

Ziebart International Corporation

To commemorate the reason for the season, Ziebart International Corporation automotive aftermarket franchise announced its inaugural Month of Giving. This collective campaign between Ziebart’s corporate team and franchise owners dedicates December to giving back. According to a press release, Ziebart of Lansing will collect donations for Toys for Tots in its showroom. In addition to Toys For Tots, other charitable organizations that franchisees will donate to include Lifesteps and Ronald McDonald House Charities.
