Olinger’s History with the Moving and Junk Removal Franchise Goes Back Over 15 Years
College HUNKS Hauling Junk & Moving, a leading moving and junk-hauling franchise, announced Eric Olinger as vice president of technology.
“The organization has done such an amazing job of leveraging technology to support our franchise partners and clients, but our strong growth and the rapid pace of technology change are lining up to make the next three to five years very exciting for us as a tech-enabled brand. We have the opportunity and challenge of taking our customer experience and back-office support to the next level,” Olinger said.
His history with the brand goes back over 15 years when he met founders, Nick Friedman and Omar Soliman, and served as an early advisor to the firm. When the need for leadership to push technology forward came up, Olinger couldn’t pass up the opportunity.

College HUNKS’ leadership team believes that Olinger is the right person for this role. “Eric has a track record for producing transformational results, while consistently driving strong and sustainable technological gains, which will be key for College HUNKS as we forge toward a future of continued growth. We are thrilled to welcome him to the team. He brings a high-energy and collaborative leadership approach that complements our company culture, and we are excited to work with him in expanding and further developing our brand,” said president Roman Cowan.
Olinger and Technology
Since building his own 4-bit computer as a teen, Olinger has been hooked on technology. Technology has provided him with the opportunity to work with amazing people. Olinger notes that the pace of change in tech continues to increase largely due to artificial intelligence and shows no signs of slowing. “We are laser focused on creating a stress-free process for our clients, and technology is the foundation of that focus. We are leading in that area and will be doubling down to further listen, fulfill and delight both our franchise partners and clients.”
While College HUNKS is his first professional exposure to the franchising, Olinger has several years in the moving and storage space with PODS, a Florida-based concept. Throughout his career, he has served as Chief Information Officer at the Hunter Warfield revenue recovery agency and principle and executive consultant for Rapid Strategy, a business consulting and services company. He has served as founder and Chief Executive Officer of Akiva Corporation and president of Tenet Networks. He enjoys the energy and unique skills that franchise partners bring to the table.
Franchisor Support and Culture
Olinger suggests that prospective franchisees strongly consider the brand’s culture before investing. In addition to asking franchisors how successful they are, candidates should consider if they will be supported during tough times.
