Sudovich, a Longtime Fan of the Brand, Will Lead Development
Michelle Sudovich, the new director of franchise development for Boston’s Pizza Restaurant & Sports Bar, will take charge of its U.S. expansion.
“The Boston’s brand is well-established across North America, and its future is bright in the U.S. We expect significant growth in the next few years,” said Sudovich, who has more than a decade of experience in franchising. “I jumped into this opportunity because of the positive experiences shared by current franchisees. The company’s commitment to expanding the U.S. franchise sector and to its franchisees resonates with my own vision for growth.”
Part of Boston’s expansion will occur via partnerships with brands like Marriott. “Our new hotel locations, both traditional and nontraditional, are doing very well,” Sudovich said. “With strong average unit volumes and satisfied franchisees, I’m eager to expand our presence.” She added that providing franchisees with all of the tools needed for their success is crucial to a brand’s growth. “Having happy franchisees that feel supported will lead to positive validation of the brand, which is a huge part of being positioned for growth.”
Her positive impressions of Boston’s Pizza began as a customer, when she and her children frequented the restaurant. “It was easy to please them, as their favorite food at the time was cheese pizza, and I always had other options in mind. Boston’s fulfilled all our cravings,” said Sudovich, a franchising veteran.
Franchising Experience
She ventured into franchising after working in corporate technology sales and nursing. Sudovich began by stumbling onto an opportunity at Growler USA Microbrew Pub, a craft beer bar franchise. Growing up with grandparents from Europe who immigrated to the U.S. and later owned bars around the Chicago area, Sudovich has always been passionate about craft beer. As a result, she was eager to work in that field. Sudovich has also held leadership roles at FSC Franchise Co. (The Brass Tap and Beef O Brady’s), Hooters of America, World Gym International and iCode.
Boston’s President Jeff Melnick said Sudovich’s experience makes her an invaluable addition to the team. “Our business model is extremely attractive to new franchisees, and Michelle will be a great catalyst for us to find new partners as we ramp up our domestic growth,” he said.
