Speirs Steps in as the Fast-Food Brand Expands Beyond the Southeast
Bojangles, a fast-food franchise famous for its chicken, biscuits and tea, has announced Brooks Speirs as vice president of franchise sales. Spiers will play an important role in Bojangles’ expansion into new markets beyond its core in the Southeast as the fast-food brand implements a streamlined menu, plus a new building design and staffing model.
“Bojangles is a unique concept with a long history of success, a cult following, and has proven that it is well-positioned for growth. Chicken remains the fastest-growing protein among consumers,” Speirs said. Bojangles performs well during all meal times, “including 37% of sales coming from breakfast. … When it comes to growing a brand, these are a few of the main items I look for, and Bojangles checked all of the boxes.”
Additionally, he was attracted to the fast-food brand’s commitment to meeting consumers’ evolving demands with menu innovation and more. He looks forward to working alongside the leadership team and network of franchisees.

In a statement about Speirs’ position, Bojangles chief development officer Jim Cannon noted that the new vice president “has a proven track record of accelerating brands’ growth, and we are confident that he will do the same at Bojangles. Brooks could not be joining us at a more perfect time, and we are eager to incorporate his skill set to help grow our beloved brand across the country.”
Building Relationships
With more than 20 years of franchise development experience, Speirs has driven growth for several national restaurant brands, including CoreLife Eatery, Moe’s Southwest Grill and Taco John’s International, where he led franchise recruitment, sales, real estate and construction. For Speirs, the restaurant industry is all about forging lasting relationships, and he’s met people from every socioeconomic class with different backgrounds and perspectives throughout his time in it. He views his experiences as a blessing and said he can’t imagine being in another industry.
Investing in a Franchise
During his career, Speirs has been fortunate enough to work with and meet many successful entrepreneurs. Passion, discipline and proper planning for their success were vital to their achievements, he said. “While money is important, my advice is to make a lasting impact and lead others to their own personal successes. This can be the key to crossing the finish line.”
