Fast-Food Franchises Celebrate the Two-Week Festival with German-Inspired Menu Items and Promotions

Prost! This September 21 marks the start of Oktoberfest, the world’s largest annual folk festival celebrating Bavarian traditions. Oktoberfest officially begins on the second-to-last Saturday in September when the mayor of Munich taps the first beer barrel and yells, “O’zapft is,” the Bavarian term for “It’s open.” The festival concludes on the first Sunday of October.

While the festival originated in Munich, Americans can be found donning Lederhosen (traditional leather breeches) and competing in stein-holding competitions during the two-week celebration. These days, fast-food franchises are getting in on the action, too, with seasonal promotions and deals.

Check out our roundup of festive Oktoberfest 2024 deals, promotions and special menu items below.
