Founder Josh Cohen Will Stay with the Sustainable, Eco-Friendly Junk Removal Franchise
Authority Brands has purchased The Junkluggers, a franchise known for diverting waste from landfills by means of recycling, by giving unwanted possessions to charitable organizations, and by re-homing them through the innovative Remix Market, a marketplace for secondhand goods. The Junkluggers, founded by Josh Cohen in 2004, has 90 franchise units operating in 350 sites around the U.S.
In a news release about the acquisition, Cohen said he created The Junkluggers “to not only help customers get rid of unwanted items, but to promote green practices in every community we operate in and with each piece of junk we lug.“ He added that “our new partnership with the Authority Brands network will power our mission and allow us the support and resources to expand our client network without sacrificing our passion for sustainability and customer service that have been the cornerstone to our success.” Cohen will continue to stay involved with The Junkluggers, the news release stated.
Complement to Authority Brands Portfolio
The Junkluggers will complement the wide-ranging brands already in 5-year-old Authority Brands’ portfolio of home-services brands. Authority Brands CEO Craig Donaldson said “The Junkluggers is a natural fit” within his company’s growing family of franchises.
