Hurst Brings Extensive Leadership Experience to the Salon Suite Concept

Sola Salons, a salon suite franchise owned by Radiance Holdings, has named Daryl Hurst president and COO. Radiance CEO Ben Jones announced Hurst’s appointment along with that of Annie Winship as senior vice president of marketing. Their hiring comes as Sola celebrates its 20th anniversary and expands into new key markets across the U.S.

“Sola is a truly amazing brand with an attractive business model and a network of over 20,000 small business owners,” Hurst said. “I am passionate about supporting business owners, and it was clear from the first interview with Radiance Holdings CEO Ben Jones that I would be joining a team equally as passionate and eager to take their support model to the next level in helping franchisees and beauty professionals achieve success. I am so inspired by their dedication to their customers, the Sola brand and personal creativity.”

Jones said Hurst’s and Winship’s combined expertise will be instrumental in shaping Sola’s growth. “With their leadership, we are well positioned to expand our reach and continue setting the standard within the beauty industry for both franchisees and our independent beauty professional community,” Jones said.

An Experienced Leader

Hurst joins Sola following his tenure as president of Driven Brand’s Maaco Corporation, where he led the automotive brand through a period of transformational expansion. He also has held leadership roles at Outback Steakhouse, eventually working his way up to operations excellence manager at the restaurant concept’s parent company, Bloomin’ Brands.

Hurst recalled gaining a passion for entrepreneurship when he began working at McDonald’s in 1998. “The franchise owner’s commitment to operational excellence, business growth and people development was inspiring,” he said. “Supporting a diverse group of individuals in living the American dream of being an entrepreneur is my favorite part of franchising.”

Hurst said he goes out of his way to ensure that his team members know their contributions are important. “It is only when we all embrace each other’s individual talents that we can truly leverage the benefits of our diverse experience and deliver amazing results as a team. I am always accessible to every single person at every single level on my team.”

Outside of work, Hurst loves spending time with his family and three dogs. He also enjoys traveling, cooking, reading, listening to music, watching movies and gardening.
