When Mohammed Zia opened his first Sky Zone location in Cerritos, Calif., in 2019, he knew he was starting something special. “Sky Zone stood out to me because it offered more than a business — it was about creating a space where people of all ages could come together and have fun,” he says.

Sky Zone, an indoor trampoline park franchise, offers an array of active entertainment options for all ages, including wall-to-wall trampolines, dodgeball, foam pits, Ninja Warrior courses and lots more. “Sky Zone combines active entertainment with pure joy. It’s not just a place to jump on trampolines — it’s where memories are made,” Zia shares. “It’s a space where people can stay active, release energy and build connections in a safe environment.”

Zia was attracted to Sky Zone’s reputation, multiple revenue streams and scalability, but mostly he loved the concept. “The timing felt right when I saw how much demand there was for family-friendly activities in my community.

More than that, I was ready to take on a business that aligned with my values and allowed me to give back in a meaningful way. After much due diligence and research, I concluded that Sky Zone is a well-respected and established brand.”

The support Sky Zone provides was also a major selling point for Zia. From real estate selection and park design to marketing and operations, Sky Zone checked all the boxes for him. “Franchising offered a perfect blend of structure and freedom,” he says. “It allows me to invest in something meaningful while benefiting from the support of a larger network.”

Expanding the Sky Zone Footprint

Since its founding in 2004, Sky Zone has grown into a global brand with locations on several continents. According to the company’s website, Sky Zone’s more than 300 locations generate $800 million annually, serve more than 320 markets and host 45 million guests and spectators each year. Each location offers over 60 unique attractions, ensuring that visitors never get bored.

Zia is contributing to this rapid expansion. In addition to his Cerritos location, his Skyzone portfolio now includes locations in Las Vegas, Nev.; as well as San Diego, Ventura and Alhambra Calif. He is in the process of developing four more Sky Zone locations in California, slated to open by 2025.

Leading With Passion

Zia believes in leading with trust and transparency. “When my employees feel like their voices are heard and they’re part of the bigger picture, they become more invested in their work. I also encourage them to take initiative and give them the tools to grow within the company,” he says. “When they see the impact they can have on the customer experience and the success of the business, they feel a sense of ownership and pride. I want them to feel that this isn’t just my business, but ‘our’ business.”

Zia describes his experience as a franchise owner as transformative. He says it has changed the way he connects with his community and with people in general. “It’s given me a deeper purpose, balancing business with giving back to the community.”

As he looks to the future, Zia is enthusiastic about the growth of his Sky Zone locations. “Fully committing to this franchise means everything to me. I truly believe that this business has the power to impact lives in positive ways, not just by providing a fun place to be active, but by bringing families together. I’m grateful to be a part of something that’s so much bigger than myself, and I can’t wait to see how the business continues to grow and evolve,” he says.
