Miracle Method made a life-changing impression on Eddie Naro (above with family) decades ago when he worked at a Los Angeles resurfacing franchise. After Naro returned to his home state of Texas, he bought the Corpus Christi franchise and has been resurfacing and repairing bathtubs, showers, tile and countertops ever since. That 1988 investment has paid off for him, his family and his community.

“At Miracle Method in L.A., I saw the owners buy the master franchise rights for parts of the country, and it was working for them,” Naro says. “As an employee, I was testing the new products, and I saw that the franchisor had a good system in place. I knew I’d benefit from buying into a system that could show me how to run a business. Having their support was the reason I did it.”

Becoming a Master Franchisee

He operated his Corpus Christi franchise for many years before purchasing the master franchise for the state of Texas. “I continued to expand as a multi-unit owner, acquiring other locations. I now own and operate nine Miracle Method franchises across the United States and have more than 100 full-time employees. Most have been with me a very long time, and most have been able to buy houses and settle down. When my staff can buy a new house or a new vehicle, it means we’re doing something right.”

Jobs are just one way Naro and Miracle Method, which is owned by Threshold Brands, give back. Naro’s customers also value his services for improving the value and aesthetics of their properties. “The No. 1 thing for customers is time savings and money savings. It’s a fraction of the cost versus tear-out and remodel, and it’s fast. It’s a great investment, and customers aren’t dealing with multiple contractors and having to move out during the project.

“I enjoy that we save customers a lot of money and make a big impact on their spaces. Seeing the satisfaction on their faces is very rewarding.” As a resurfacing franchise, Miracle Method eases the strain on landfills and the environment, he adds.

Helping the Community

Naro gets special satisfaction from helping lower-income customers and seniors with mobility challenges. “Miracle Method’s Easy Step product is a quick-to-install bathtub-to-shower conversion that makes their lives much simpler and safer for a very affordable price.”

In addition, he gives back through community involvement such as Little League baseball roles, including team sponsorships, and has served on area planning boards. “We do fundraising events, too. We’ve done chili cook-offs, gumbo cook-offs and barbecue cook-offs to raise money for local organizations. My wife, Shelly, has been involved with running clubs and setting up events. We’ve sponsored and participated in everything as a company and family.“

Always a Family Focus

“It’s been a very good family-run operation since day one and still is. Everyone in my family has worked for the business. My dad helped me with sales. All of my boys grew up in the business from the minute they were born, and my wife has done all of the books. My son Tim runs the Corpus Christi location, and my son Thomas is my lead there. My son Jeff owns and operates the Miracle Method Houston location. My nephew Brandon is my general manager at the Detroit location. Even my mom worked with me, and all of my siblings’ kids — my nieces and nephews and even some of their friends — have worked in the business at some point.”

Naro’s goal is to pass his refurfacing franchise down to the next generation, to his general managers, “to let them start to realize their dreams.” Instead of overseeing inventory, billing, marketing and the like as “the day-to-day operations guy, I want to be more of a mentor at this stage.”

His next-generation owners can take comfort in the continuing popularity of bathroom upgrades. The market was $53.7 billion in 2025 and is expected to grow 3% annually for the next several years, exceeding $79 billion by 2035, according to ResearchAndMarkets.com. Homeowners, of course, appreciate the improved aesthetics of a bathroom update handled by a Miracle Method refurfacing franchise. And looking ahead to resale time, a bathroom refresh can provide a reasonably strong return on investment while serving as an enticement to buyers, according to real estate website Zillow.com.
