Langford Leans on 20 Years of Franchising and Media Marketing Experience
Jason Langford has joined the Retro Fitness franchise as vice president of marketing. Langford, an award-winning marketing strategist, has 20 years of experience with organizations including Granite Transformations, TREND Group and Tribune Media.
“I am excited by the opportunity to expand my horizons in a new industry,” Langford said. “Coming from the home improvement franchise space, I wanted to bring my marketing expertise to a hot and growing vertical. Retro Fitness, a leader in the high-volume, low-price fitness space, offered the perfect fit.”
Langford said working with Kim Gouch, chief brand officer at Retro Fitness, has been a plus. “She’s a true powerhouse, a dynamic leader, and is committed to growing this brand through creativity and innovation. Her being brought on board as the company’s first chief brand officer was a major factor in my decision to join Retro Fitness,” Langford said.
Gouch said Langford’s leadership and franchising experience is essential in elevating Retro Fitness’ marketing efforts. “Jason is a highly accomplished marketing professional who brings a strategic and results-driven approach to his work,” Gouch said.
Strong Marketing Support
Langford said franchisors can improve their marketing initiatives by providing strong, centralized support. “This is exactly what we do at Retro Fitness with our full-service, in-house marketing team. It’s a huge advantage because we can align messaging and campaigns systemwide while tailoring execution for each Retro Fitness club. Equally as important, franchisees need to stay closely connected with the franchisor. Our success is directly tied to theirs, so our role is rooted in ensuring that our franchisees have the tools and strategies needed to drive growth, enhance member engagement and maximize revenue.”
Staying on top of trends and adapting quickly is key to Retro’s success, he said. “Many of our clubs are already doing a great job capitalizing on social media trends and seeing strong engagement at the local level. We’re leaning into platforms like Instagram, YouTube Shorts and TikTok to meet consumers where they are and capture their attention.”
