Perry Advances Domestic Growth Across the Portfolio Company’s Franchise Concepts
Purpose Brands, a portfolio of fitness, health and wellness franchise concepts and services, has named Patricia Perry chief development officer. Perry is responsible for the domestic development of the company’s brands: Anytime Fitness, Orangetheory Fitness, The Bar Method, Basecamp Fitness and Waxing the City. Her addition to the leadership team comes amid Anytime Fitness’ massive growth in 2025, averaging more than one new location opening per day throughout the year.
“Purpose Brands is the global leader in health and wellness franchise brands,” Perry says. “Anytime Fitness is a behemoth and, along with accelerating growth, it’s been exciting to work with the teams and franchisees to remodel gyms across the system. All of the brands have exciting growth opportunities, and I’m excited to implement strategies to continue growing the brands in a measured and sustainable way. We have new store designs rolling out, and I look forward to finding ways to effectively reduce costs for those prototypes.”
Perry said Purpose Brands continues to drive fitness franchising forward by focusing on the member experience, providing franchisees with tools and guidance, and being thoughtful about growth. “Across the United States, we are investing in the systems that help owners open stronger and operate more confidently. When you combine that with the innovation happening across our brands, there is a tremendous opportunity to continue raising the bar for what franchising can look like.”
Professional Background
Perry has extensive leadership experience at brands including Gala Capital Partners, Bagel Brands, Edible Brands, Blink Fitness and Krispy Kreme. She also has owned and operated a farm‑to‑table Southern-style restaurant in the Atlanta area. “That experience grounded me in what it really takes to build a business, lead a team and create the kind of community connection that keeps guests coming back,” she said. “Each step of my journey has reinforced my passion for scaling brands and helping great operators grow and realize their dreams of becoming entrepreneurs.”
She said it’s important for franchisors to have a clear story about why their brands work, a disciplined approach to choosing the right markets and operators, and a commitment to supporting franchisees long after the deal is signed. “The franchisors who grow the strongest systems are the ones who stay close to operations, listen to their owners and build processes that make it easier for entrepreneurs to thrive no matter which market they’re in. When you focus on those fundamentals, growth becomes a natural outcome rather than the goal itself.”
Tom Leverton, chief executive officer of Purpose Brands, said Perry’s “expertise in franchise development and passion for our brands will drive our next phase of growth and strengthen our position as a leader in the health and fitness industry.”
Perry credited her parents, who grew up in sharecropping families, for teaching her the importance of perseverance and going after her dreams. During her spare time, Perry enjoys spending time with family and friends, baking, traveling and doing a weekly cold plunge.
