Adams’ Three Decades of Industry Experience Started with Delivering Pizzas

Pizza Factory has announced Matt Adams as regional vice president. With this role, he will assist with the pizza franchisor’s employee logistics and growth. 

“I’m very excited to be in this position. For over 30 years, I’ve been in pizza operations, and I’ve been able to learn from some of the best. Now, I can take my experience and knowledge and work with some amazing owners to help them achieve their goals. My hope is that I can bring a different perspective to their business to where they can further improve their objectives,” Adams said. 

For the past three decades, Pizza Factory has been a “go-to” restaurant for Adams’ family. After having lunch with Pizza Factory vice president of operations Steve Gibbs and meeting chief executive officer Mary Jane Riva, Adams was intrigued and realized that the brand’s culture was something he wanted to be a part of.

Riva looks forward to having Adams on board. “Our regional vice president plays an important role in ensuring that restaurant owners are given the tools they need to succeed. Matt’s extensive operational experience and intense passion for the Pizza Factory brand will be an asset to his role, and I know he will make a large impact on the brand. We have a lot of development in place for the remainder of the year, and I’m confident Matt will play a pivotal role in ensuring efficiency and implementing the company’s vision and goals throughout.” Adams notes that Pizza Factory is focused on menu simplification, reducing the cost of goods, and cutting labor while sticking to its roots. 

Being Unafraid

Adams didn’t plan on entering franchising but fell in love with the restaurant environment while delivering pizzas on Friday nights for extra money. The ability to impact someone’s life is fulfilling and the best aspect of franchising to him. Additionally, he believes that the great thing about franchising is working with individuals who have different skill sets.

Throughout his career in the pizza industry, Adams has worked on both the corporate and franchisee sides. With the connections he has made, he’s established an understanding of the business and what it takes to succeed. He urges franchisee prospects to be unafraid of trying because there are many resources to help them achieve their goals.
