Lally Leads a Team of 22 Directors and Operations Consultants
Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa, a luxury spa franchise, promoted Meghan Lally to senior vice president of franchise operations. She will oversee operations of the entire franchise system. For more than 15 years, Lally has grown in her job since beginning as a spa associate in the Toms River, N.J., location. With this new role, she will lead a team of 22 directors and consultants, according to a press release. The brand’s growing leadership team includes the recent addition of Jennifer Durham as chief development officer. These new additions and promotions come amid a year of strong growth for the spa franchise.
Lally originally joined Hand & Stone as a part-time employee while she was in college. “Within a matter of days, I realized I was a part of something much bigger. I joined the team the same time Hand & Stone officially became a franchise. With a little luck and unwavering confidence, I made it known to our founder that I was committed to the brand and would help in any capacity.”

While she has been with Hand & Stone for over a decade, Lally says that it feels like only months ago she entered the workforce as a wide-eyed businesswoman determined to make a name for herself. “Now, I am fulfilled by helping the members of my team discover and display their talents. As the first operations consultant for Hand & Stone, I learned through trial and error. I’m here to pass along all I’ve learned as the members of my team forge their way in this industry.”
Staying Ahead of the Curve
Hand & Stone will stay ahead of the curve by providing entrepreneurs with the confidence and support they need to fulfill their dreams of business ownership, Lally said. “We show that a franchise centered around transparency and innovation is key to successful partnerships and business growth. The beauty of a franchise is that you’re surrounded by so many others who are met with the same challenges. We believe in continuous communication of best practices, so we can all learn from one another.”
Buying the Right Franchise
When it comes to buying a franchise, choosing the right one should come down to the people, in Lally’s view. “The success of the product or service should be obvious, but the people [in the franchise system] need to feel like a match for you. They are responsible for guiding and supporting you. You need to feel comfortable and aligned with their passions and goals. You need to feel that you belong!”
