Roseanne Trapasso loves the mission of GYMGUYZ: taking customized fitness workouts to individual children and adults as well as family groups. “We bring the workout directly to your doorstep. We always hear that clients don’t feel comfortable stepping foot in the gym or don’t have the time. What better way to stay fit at every age than to have everything you need — the personal trainer, the equipment and the individualized workout plan — delivered right to you?”

Trapasso’s franchise, GYMGUYZ of Greater Middlesex County and Princeton, N.J., provides training for numerous children, including conditioning for sports tryouts, and footwork, agility and endurance training in off-seasons. “We also have B2B programs with schools to help instill a healthy lifestyle and movement at a young age. Our youngest GYMGUYZ are 2 years old! We have Family-Friendly Fitness GYMGUYZ takes personalized workouts to clients of all ages many families who train together — a husband and wife, siblings and even a family of four that trains together. We also had fitness, sports, and game programs in several summer camps.”

Trapasso finds working with youth to be especially fulfilling. “It is so important to instill a healthy lifestyle at a young age. The biggest reward is seeing their boost of confidence as the sessions or classes progress. We incorporate fun activities and fitness movements so they don\’t even realize what they are doing is actually ‘training.’ And even our clients who are training with small kids watching, well, their kids ARE watching! Taking care of yourself is never selfish. The kids will value it later on.”

Trapasso’s passion for family fitness has deep roots. “I grew up in an active household and stayed active through college. Unfortunately, my father was diagnosed with cancer and given three months to live, but fought for seven years. I truly believe his active lifestyle and love for fitness instilled in him at a young age gave him the strength to fight for that long. That’s why the GYMGUYZ model spoke to me personally.”

I wanted to make fitness accessible to everyone.

Client-Turned-Franchise Owner

Before investing in her franchise, Trapasso had sold high-end clothing lines to department stores and boutiques then took time off to raise her two sons. She was a GYMGUYZ client after her second son was born. “I am a true believer that having the personal trainer come to your home not only keeps you accountable but also helps you achieve results faster. I wanted to make fitness accessible to everyone, and what better way than through GYMGUYZ?” Its proven franchise model appealed to her as a way to meld her respect for fitness with a well-supported new career. “I wanted to use my entrepreneurial and business skills at a company with structure but not in the corporate world. I looked at numerous franchises, and the GYMGUYZ model really stood out.”

Today her franchise keeps her on the go. “I get out in the community day to day, attending chamber events and meeting with prospective businesses to either partner or to discuss possible business opportunities we could work on together. I also do weekly check-ins with clients and trainers. I’m nonstop with marketing.” Trapasso also strives constantly to hire great trainers. “They must be energetic, passionate and most of all motivating enough to push our clients to reach their goals.”

GYMGUYZ has more than 250 locations in 22 states and three countries; it provides franchisees with extensive training and marketing assistance. Franchises, which can be home-based, may open as quickly as eight weeks after signing. GYMGUYZ demonstrates strong growth potential — Trapasso, who has 15 employees, has expanded her territory three times since opening last October.
