Ella Coffee House blends family, friends and flavor to keep customers returning time and again. Each Ella restaurant has a carefully designed environment that encourages fellowship along with the shared enjoyment of freshly prepared salads, sandwiches, pastries, coffee and other beverages.

“Ella was inspired by our vision to create a community-focused haven with a unique coffee and food experience that uses only the highest-quality ingredients,” says owner and CEO Anthony Perera. “We are absolutely a fabric of each community. You will see families every day at all our locations. Our loyal customers come in often to meet with other families and friends and conduct business. We endear our brand to communities through outreach programs such as Coffee with a Cop, and we give local artists an opportunity to share their music live onstage. We want to be the neighborhood go-to destination.”

Founded in 2016, Florida-based Ella Coffee House “started as a passion to bring our vision of what a coffee house should be to life — a comfortable vibe where quality meets creativity and attention to the details matters.” The décor is eclectic, with homey bric-a-brac, computer-friendly tables and comfortable armchairs. “We handcraft most of our products in-house and obsess over quality.”

Ella Coffee House has 15 franchised units and three company-owned units; it’s expanding into many states and Canada. “Franchising allows us to align with like-minded operators and entrepreneurs,” Perera says. “We want franchisees who we feel best represent Ella Coffee House\’s culture. Those who are the right fit will receive excellent training and personalized coaching to ensure that our vision stays consistent across the country as we grow. Anyone can open a business, but opening one that gives customers an elevated, personalized experience is truly a commitment.”

The Ideal Ella Coffee House Candidate

The ideal franchisee has a passion for food, but Ella Coffee House does not require food experience — just the desire to share their passion with others. “We are looking for business acumen and strong leaders to manage successful teams,” Perera says.

Franchisor support includes assistance with site selection, lease negotiation and recruiting. Training consists of 53 hours in the Miami area plus a week of training at the franchised location. Ella trains the staff on-site during the first week in business, and after that, there are routine site visits and weekly meetings.

“I got involved with Ella Coffee House after the company was founded because my wife was obsessed with it,” Perera says. “Every Saturday she would send me to grab her a Hazelnut Ella Latte and an omelet baguette. The lines were always out the door. Ella has become a part of our family, and now we want to share our family with everyone.”

The Case for Ella

Anthony Perera, Ella Cafe franchise

CEO Anthony Perera (above) outlines tremendous potential for Ella Coffee House. For example:

  • Two-thirds of Americans drink coffee — 517 million cups of it daily, according to the National Coffee Association. “It’s a passion for some and a daily must-have for others. It’s not a fad and will never go away.”
  • Lifestyle changes such as online college classes and remote or hybrid jobs have motivated people to seek coffee-centric restaurants where they can work, study, meet and relax.
  • Ella restaurants have minimal inventory, products and staffing (four or five employees per site).
  • High-end technology delivers comprehensive real-time data.
  • The brand has a standout profit history. “While others struggled during the pandemic, Ella Coffee House made money.”
