Walker’s Background Includes 30-Plus Years of Hospitality and Retail Leadership Experience
WOWorks, the owner of Saladworks, Frutta Bowls, Garbanzo Mediterranean Fresh, The Simple Greek, Barberitos and Zoup! Eatery, has named James Walker chief growth officer. Walker has 30-plus years of hospitality and retail leadership experience, previously serving in senior executive positions at Nathan’s Famous, Baja Fresh, Beef ‘O’ Brady’s, Lunchbox and Cinnabon. During his time with Subway, Walker advanced initiatives in delivery, brand positioning and operational growth while managing approximately 28,000 locations. He has achieved numerous accolades throughout his career, including being recognized on Nation’s Restaurant News’ Power List.
Walker now fosters growth across WOWorks’ portfolio through strategic market expansion and franchise recruitment. “WOWorks’ strong portfolio of brands, leadership team and purpose immediately stood out to me,” he said. “I look forward to working with our franchise owners because their passion and entrepreneurial spirit keep me excited to start work every single morning. In addition to Walker’s appointment, the company further strengthened its leadership team by promoting Nolan Woods from senior vice president of operations to chief operations officer.

In his spare time, Walker enjoys traveling and has been to more than 75 countries. He also is an avid wine collector and fly fisherman.
