Fast-Food Franchises Celebrate With Discounts and Special Menu Items

Cinco de Mayo has become a popular celebration of Mexican culture in the U.S., with parades, parties and other celebrations across the country. Fast-food franchises like California Tortilla, Fuzzy’s Taco Shop, Nothing Bundt Cakes (above) and Moe’s Southwest Grill are joining in the fun by offering limited-time specials and discounts on tacos, burritos, drinks and more.
Here’s how franchise brands are keeping the fiesta going this May 5.

Bad Daddy’s Burger Bar
Bad Daddy’s Burger Bar is turning up the flavor this Cinco de Mayo. The brand’s Bad Ass Margarita will be just $5 on May 5. Guests can also try the new Smashadilla Burger (above), made with taco-seasoned smash patties, Monterey Jack cheese, pico de gallo, chipotle ranch and crushed avocado, all stacked between quesadilla-style buns and served with red salsa.
Bubbakoo’s Burritos
Bubbakoo’s Burritos is hosting a $5 Cinco de Mayo taco party from May 1–5, featuring two tacos served with chips and salsa. Bubbakoo’s Rewards members can celebrate on May 5 by earning five times the points on purchases and receiving a free queso or guacamole reward.
California Tortilla
California Tortilla is stretching Cinco de Mayo into a five-day fiesta, with a new deal every day from May 1–5. For example, guests can enjoy free chips and queso with a purchase on May 1. They also get $5 off orders of $20 or more on May 3. To end the fiesta with a bang, California Tortilla is giving out free taco coupons to customers who make purchases on May 5. Plus, any Cinco de Mayo purchase tied to a Burrito Elito rewards account enters guests to win grand prizes, including theme park tickets and free burritos for a year.
Chipotle
To celebrate Cinco de Mayo, Chipotle has an online exclusive deal for loyalty members. They can score free chips with guacamole or queso blanco on May 5 with code CINCO26.
Cicis Pizza
Cicis Pizza is bringing a Tex-Mex-inspired twist to Cinco de Mayo with the return of the Olé Pizza. This specialty pizza features seasoned ground beef, a spicy jalapeño marinara sauce, shredded cheese and lettuce.
Dog Haus
Dog Haus is keeping the Cinco de Mayo party going with the Haus Margarita, which is available at locations serving liquor. The fun continues with the Bad-Ass Breakfast Burritos Borracho Burrito (above) on May 6.
El Pollo Loco
On May 5, El Pollo Loco guests get two tacos for $5 across all locations and ordering channels. Additionally, they can enjoy $20 off catering orders of $100 or more.
Fuzzy’s Taco Shop
Fuzzy’s Taco Shop is getting into the spirit of Cinco de Mayo with a great deal. On May 5, guests can celebrate with $10 Half Yard Margs and tacos starting at $2.50. Loyalty members can enjoy free chips and queso with a purchase on May 6.
Hot Head Burritos
Hot Head Burritos is turning Cinco de Mayo into a month-long fiesta. The brand is giving away thousands of prizes, including free drinks, queso, guacamole, burritos for a year and a trip to the Caribbean. Customers will also receive a scratch-off card with each order through May 31.
Lime Fresh Mexican Grill
Lime Fresh Mexican Grill is going all out for Cinco de Mayo with live DJs, swag giveaways, interactive games like cornhole and jumbo Jenga and face painting for kids. The celebration also comes with a menu milestone: Lime Fresh is making its fan favorite Birria Tacos a permanent menu item starting May 5.
Moe’s Southwest Grill
What’s Cinco de Mayo without queso? Moe’s Southwest Grill is celebrating with free queso with any entrée purchase in-store on May 5. To keep the celebration going, loyalty members can also enjoy free queso with a purchase from May 6–10.
Nothing Bundt Cakes
Nothing Bundt Cakes is bringing its signature sweetness to Cinco de Mayo. On May 5, loyalty members can earn 50 bonus points when they purchase any Fiesta Large Cake (above) or Fiesta Bundtinis. Known for its handcrafted Bundt cakes, rich frosting and festive flavors, the bakery brand is giving fans another reason to celebrate with a treat that is made for sharing.
Sullivan’s Steakhouse
Sullivan’s Steakhouse is taking Cinco de Mayo to the next level with great happy hour offers on drinks. On May 5 from 3–6 p.m., guests can receive $5 off select martinis and craft cocktails. This includes the Spicy Flamed Margarita, which is made with Flecha Azul Blanco Tequila, Cointreau, orange juice, agave nectar, garnished with a chipotle salt rim and presented with a flame on top. Guests can also get $8 select wine by the glass on Cinco de Mayo.
Surcheros
Surcheros, a Georgia-based Tex-Mex restaurant franchise, is rewarding its loyalty members with five times the points on all purchases made on May 5. This deal is valid on all menu items, including catering orders placed on the brand’s app or website.
Taco Cabana
From May 4–10, Taco Cabana fans can enjoy any two tacos and a margarita for $8.99, as well as six Flautas (crispy, rolled Mexican tacos) and two margaritas for $12.99. On May 5 only, margaritas, bean and cheese pie, strawberry margarita pie, churros and queso fries can be enjoyed for as little as $1.50.
TGI Fridays
On May 5, TGI Fridays is celebrating Mexican culture with $5 classic margaritas. Guests will also receive a free chips and salsa on Cinco de Mayo when signing up for Fridays Rewards.
The Greene Turtle
Fans of The Greene Turtle restaurants can indulge in festive food and drink specials from May 2–5. These specials include $8 Perfect Patrón Margaritas, $6 People’s Margaritas and Spicy Cucumber Margaritas, $4 Classic Margaritas and Coronas and a $6 Dip Sampler.
