Johnson Joined the Company in 2021 as VP of Innovation and Merchandising

Edible Brands has promoted Angela Johnson from chief strategy and innovation officer to chief marketing officer. Johnson joined Edible Brands in 2021 and now oversees marketing and product innovation for its family of brands, including Edible Arrangements, edibles.com and Rōti Modern Mediterranean. She brings nearly 25 years of experience to the role.

“Over the past several years, my role expanded from innovation to enterprise strategy. This new role reflects that evolution and the belief that growth happens when brand, product and execution move together,” Johnson said. “From launching our NextGen store prototype to expanding new categories like bakery, floral and private-label chocolate, we have demonstrated that innovation can drive meaningful revenue and stronger franchise economics. As CMO, my focus is on amplifying that impact by ensuring our marketing strategy accelerates omnichannel growth, deepens personalization and continues to position our brands as leaders in modern gifting and food-led experiences. Marketing must be measurable, executable at the local level and directly tied to financial performance. That is how we create sustainable growth across the portfolio.”

Somia Farid Silber, CEO of Edible Brands, said Johnson “brings a rare ability to connect strategy, product innovation and brand storytelling in a way that delivers real impact. This expanded role reflects both her proven leadership and our confidence in her ability to bring marketing and innovation together to support continued growth.”

Johnson promotes systems that enable fast testing and learning at the local level, arguing that franchisors should focus more on staying relevant and executing well than on sticking to rigid annual plans. “That starts with understanding the customer journey across digital and physical channels and designing marketing that franchisees can actually implement. It also requires financial rigor. Marketing initiatives should improve unit economics, not just awareness. The most effective franchisors treat marketing as a commercial function grounded in data, testing and continuous improvement.”
