Vickers Combines Financial Expertise with a Desire to Help Franchise Owners Succeed
GarageExperts, a leading garage makeover concept, has appointed Ken Vickers as chief financial officer. He brings more than 20 years of experience in financial management to the role. GarageExperts’ leadership has expanded to also include Mike Mushinski as president and Brooke Janousek as CMO to guide the brand in expanding to 20 new franchise locations in 2025.
“What excites me most about this role is the opportunity to make a real impact – not just on the GarageExperts brand, but on the lives of the franchisees who are working hard to build something meaningful,” Vickers said.
He added that growing up in an entrepreneurial family gave him perspective on how personal the journey of entrepreneurship can be. “I know the hard work, dedication and personal investment that goes into business ownership. When I learned how GarageExperts combines a strong system with exceptional franchisee support, it felt like a perfect fit, one that aligned with my belief in empowering business owners to thrive.”
Mike Meursing, CEO of GarageExperts, said he is confident Vickers and his colleagues will drive the company forward. “This expanded leadership team positions GarageExperts perfectly to continue leading the garage enhancement industry and empowering our franchisees to build lasting legacies,” Meursing said.
A Career in Finance
Vickers has spent his multi-decade career serving in financial roles for brands including Incora, AMETEK Thermal Management Systems, L3 Technologies, Triumph Group and Parker Hannifin.
Vickers said his passion for finance stems from his desire to help others succeed. “Whether it’s guiding a new franchisee through budgeting, helping them plan for growth or simplifying financial data so they can focus on what they do best, I’m passionate about helping people feel more confident managing their businesses.”
He emphasized the importance of franchisors simplifying financial education to foster franchisees’ long-term success. “What I’ve seen work really well is when franchisors provide practical, hands-on financial training – not just a one-time session but ongoing support that helps franchisees build confidence in their numbers. A dedicated franchise business coach can make a huge difference, helping franchisees understand their financial data and, more importantly, what to do with it.”
In his free time, Vickers’ interests include gardening, home remodeling projects and spending time with his family. “For me, it’s all connected – the fulfillment that comes from building something strong, whether it’s a home, business or family.”
