Alexander has Experience on Both Sides of a Franchise Model

Massage Heights, a leading massage and wellness franchise, has promoted Austin Alexander to vice president of franchise development. Previously serving as the massage franchise’s senior director of franchise development, Alexander will utilize his operations and sales skills to drive growth.

A passionate advocate for health and wellness, Alexander said Massage Heights has been a great match for his core values because the brand provides an elevated and holistic healing approach to the mind and body with an affordable and convenient membership model. “I knew there was ample opportunity to provide these services in hundreds more communities across North America,” he said, adding that he looks forward to helping entrepreneurs live out their dreams.

Founder and CEO Shane Evans expressed excitement about Alexander taking on this new challenge. “An energetic and enthusiastic entrepreneur at heart, Austin is deeply committed to empowering others to realize their own entrepreneurial aspirations and contribute to community well-being through business ownership. His strong background and passion for franchising, particularly in the health and wellness sector, align perfectly with our mission to empower individuals to own their own businesses and promote well-being within communities,” Evans said.

Optimistic Outlook on Wellness

Alexander said he is hopeful for the wellness industry’s future because it has bounced back from the Covid-19 pandemic. He added that Massage Heights’ dedication to franchisee success kept the brand going during that time. Research supports Alexander’s optimism; the International Franchise Association’s 2024 Franchising Economic Outlook report projects personal services to remain the top industry for franchise expansion.

“Our primary focus lies within growth and innovation. With the technology and services provided in our franchised locations, we want to provide as much value to our franchisees and their members as possible, focusing on scalability and profitability. We know the demand is there, and we look forward to providing the value for our franchisees to serve and execute on the local level,” Alexander said.

Passion for Franchising

Alexander was introduced to franchising when he connected with a franchisee at a local Anytime Fitness. After doing his due diligence, Alexander leaped into entrepreneurship by investing in the Snap Fitness 24/7 franchise.

Prior to joining Massage Heights, he served in leadership roles with Self Esteem Brands and Lift Brands. He also has a personal trainer certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine and is a nutrition coach with Precision Nutrition, a Toronto-based wellness and fitness services company. In 2023, he co-founded the Team Alexander Consulting firm.

Franchising hasn’t just impacted Alexander’s life professionally; he met his wife while working in similar capacities with health and wellness franchisors.
