Fast Food Franchises Go to the Head of the Class With Fun Deals and Specials
As summer winds down and a new school year approaches, it’s time for the annual back-to-school shopping trip. Fast food restaurants offer the perfect quick meal as students and their parents shop for essentials. With back-to-school and back-to-college spending expected to reach $39 billion and $87 billion respectively, fast food franchises are banking on the extra foot traffic.

Auntie Anne’s
Auntie Anne’s is making the grade this back-to-school season with a great gift card deal. Through September 2, customers who purchase a $30 gift card receive a $5 reward that can be used at a future visit. Participation in the pretzel franchise’s rewards program is required to redeem the $5 reward, which is valid through October 27.
Burger King
Through August 25, Burger King customers can get a free King Jr. meal (above) with a $10 purchase. This deal can be redeemed by rewards members at participating locations or online.
Cinnabon
Cinnabon makes purchasing delicious pastries after school easier than the ABCs. The brand is offering a $5 reward for rewards members who purchase a $30 gift certificate. The deal is valid through September 2, and the reward is only redeemable through October 27.
Dickey’s Barbecue Pit
Dickey’s Barbecue Pit is easing back-to-school dinner stress with multiple deals. Family Packs (two pounds of pit smoked meat with up to two meat choices, three large sides, and six slices of Texas toast) will be discounted by 15% from 4 p.m. until close with the code FAMILY24. Students under the age of 12 also receive a free kids meal with an adult meal order of $12 or more using the code KEFOLO through September 15.
Island Fin Poké Co
From August 19 – 23, students can boost their study sessions with two bowls, two dole soft serves and two sodas for only $30 from the Island Fin Poké Co franchise. Pricing and participation in this promotion may vary by location.
Jeremiah’s Italian Ice
Back-to-school season just got cooler at Jeremiah’s Italian Ice. From September 9 – 13, select locations will discount orders of $15 or more by $5.
KFC
In honor of back-to-school season, KFC has introduced deals that could put a smile on any hungry student’s face. Guests get 50% off their choice of the KFC Chicken Sandwich (classic, spicy, or saucy) when ordering on the brand’s website or app. Additionally, the Variety Bucket (above) and Drum & Thigh Bucket are discounted by 40% when ordered through KFC’s app or website.
Potbelly
To make the back-to-school season more enjoyable, Potbelly has a buy-one, get-one-free (BOGO) offer this August 27. When guests order an original or big sandwich, they get one for free. Potbelly fans can also enjoy a free Kids Combo meal (a choice of one kids-sized turkey and Swiss, ham and Swiss, peanut butter and jelly, grilled cheese, or mac and cheese paired with bottled water, applesauce, and mini oatmeal chocolate chip cookie) with the purchase of any entree, every weeknight after 5 p.m. and all day on weekends from August 28 through September 29.
Schlotzsky’s
Through October 6, fans of the Schlotzsky’s franchise get a $5 pizza after 5 p.m. every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The offer is valid in store only at participating locations.
Wendy’s
Wendy’s is making the back-to-school season more special with a new promotion. Through September 2, families can enjoy a free Wendy’s Kids Meal by purchasing a premium combo meal using a digital offer on the Wendy’s app. The Wendy’s Kids Meal features four chicken nuggets, a beef hamburger or a cheeseburger, a side of junior hot and crispy fries or apple bites, and a drink.
