Franchising Pro is Passionate about the Spa Franchise’s Mission

Spavia, a luxury spa franchise, announced Courtney Allison as chief operating officer. In addition to a decade of franchising experience in the beauty and retail space, Allison brings a passion for wellness and a commitment to operational excellence to her new position.

From the first time Allison met with Spavia co-founders Marty and Allison Langenderfer, it was evident to her that they care about the brand and their franchisees’ success. As an operations leader, that is the most important thing in franchising, she added. “Spavia is a strong brand that is poised for greatness. I’m excited to bring my experience from other systems to propel the next phase of growth.” She sees high growth potential at Spavia, because in recent years people have increasingly wanted to look and feel their best, and spas help them achieve that.

A Happy Accident

When Allison started to work in franchising, she didn’t know much about the business model. She learned more from a restaurant concept that had a handful of franchise units. It was there that Allison fell in love with the entrepreneurial nature of franchising and remembers sitting with new franchise owners, hearing stories about their desire to have a piece of the American Dream. Prior to joining Spavia, Allison held leadership positions with Hydrate IV Bar, Sola Salons, Mrs. Fields Famous Brands and more.

Allison gives this advice to entrepreneurs with the franchising bug: Do your research by reviewing the franchise disclosure document, or FDD, and talking to existing franchisees. In her experience, candidates should look for a brand they connect with and that has the culture and resources to support them.
