April 25, 2006 - ORLANDO – Kelly Brott of Winter Garden has opened the first Orlando-area office of Pet Butler, the nation’s leading pet cleanup service. It is the company’s fourth franchise office in Florida.

Pet Butler, based in Dallas, Texas, provides professional pet waste cleanup and removal services for individual homeowners and their pets, as well as for multi-family communities and parks. The company proudly bills itself as “#1 in the ‘#2’ business.”

Pet Butler charges a small per-visit fee to collect dog and cat waste, carry it away, and dispose of it properly. Whether in yards or in public spaces, accumulated domestic animal waste can ruin lawns and present a significant source of water pollution.

Brott’s Pet Butler operation, based in Winter Garden, serves Orlando and the surrounding communities, offering weekly and twice-weekly pickup services. His service area includes Altamonte Springs, Kissimmee, Ocoee, Sanford, Winter Park, Winter Garden, Apopka, Celebration, Clermont, Gotha, Oakland, Lake Buena Vista, Lake Mary, Maitland, and Windermere.

Brott, who has nearly 20 years of experience in retail, customer service, and sales, was an operations manager for a large retailer before deciding to launch his own business through Pet Butler.

“I was looking for an opportunity to own my own business, and I have to admit the idea of that business being poop-scooping made me laugh at first,” Brott said. “But the more I learned about it, I realized it was just the kind of opportunity I was looking for.”

Brott has three dogs of his own – two Boston Terriers and a Basset Hound – and said that helped him realize that with a Pet Butler franchise, he could provide a valuable and needed service to pet owners.

He added, jokingly, “I suppose you could say my new business stinks, but I look forward to really cleaning up.”

Brott said Orlando is a great market for his Pet Butler services, with its large number of busy, two-earner households and its vast offerings of family fun activities. “With so much else to do here, people don’t want to spend their valuable time cleaning up after their pets. We can help them use their time for more entertaining activities,” he said.

Matt “Red” Boswell, CEO (Chief Excrement Officer) of Pet Butler, said the Orlando office is a welcome expansion for the company. “The Orlando area that Kelly Brott serves is a beautiful area and a fantastic place to do business, and now that Pet Butler is there, it will look and smell even better.” Pet Butler’s other Florida offices are in Jacksonville, Sarasota, and the Panama City area, with a fifth office in Tampa set to launch in late summer.
