March 9, 2006 - (CHESTERFIELD, England) — When FASTSIGNS International, Inc., a sign and graphics franchisor, tallied which of its U.K. centres had the highest sales for last year, two female owners emerged in the top two positions for overall sales.

Among the 18 U.K. FASTSIGNS® centre owners, Lindsay Allison, who owns the Chesterfield/Sheffield FASTSIGNS®, and Jenny Boreham, whose store is in Chelmsford, ranked first and second respectively in sales from October 2004 through September 2005, said executives with FASTSIGNS International. The two women received awards for their sales achievement at the company’s January convention, held in Orlando, Fla. Mr. Chris Simpson, who owns the Leeds FASTSIGNS® centre, placed third in overall highest sales over the same timeframe. Jenny and Lindsay are the only two women running U.K. FASTSIGNS® centres.

FASTSIGNS® centres provide businesses and organisations with a wide range of signs and graphics, from point-of-purchase materials to livery graphics. Each U.K. centre has in-house, wide-format, full colour graphics digital printing equipment so that it can produce customers’ full colour advertisements, promotional materials, exhibition graphics and other projects.

“Lindsay, Jenny and their staff excel at delivering great sign and graphic products on time and providing customers with top customer service,” said Larry Lane, the company’s president. “They both have been owners for a long time – Lindsay since 1999 and Jenny since 1996 – and know that hard work, customer service and patience really pay off. The results speak for themselves.”

“We treat our customers as we would like to be treated,” said Lindsay, whose husband, Garth, owns the centre with her. Garth does not work in the centre, but instead heads up U.K. franchise sales development for FASTSIGNS International, Inc. Garth’s son, Paul, is also involved in the business and will soon become a director. “I have found this to be a very woman-friendly business,” said Lindsay. “Everyone needs signs, no matter what their gender is!”

“This is a great field for women,” said Jenny. “We’re not afraid to take on the big jobs.” For example, Jenny’s centre recently designed, produced and installed very large signs for a shopping centre, which required the rental of a cherry picker and other heavy equipment during installation.

In addition to their sales achievements, the two female FASTSIGNS® centre owners serve in leadership roles with FASTSIGNS International, Inc. Along with Richard Jameson, who owns the Crawley FASTSIGNS®, they serve on the company’s Central Marketing Fund (CMF). The CMF board members advise FASTSIGNS International, Inc.’s executives about marketing programmes for the U.K. centres.
