March 7, 2010 - With senior directors from internationally renowned brands such as Hilton Hotels, McDonald’s, Toni & Guy and Canterbury NZ amongst the keynote speakers, the conferences and seminars at The British & International Franchise Exhibition will offer the most impressive range of expertise ever at a UK franchise event.

Simon Brown, Brand Director for Canterbury of New Zealand and Former Head of International Trading in Ladybird; and Mr Toni Mascolo OBE, Founder of Toni & Guy, the world’s most recognised hairdressing brand, are the keynote speakers on Friday 19 March, the opening day of the event. Simon will present ‘The World is Accessible’ whilst Mr Mascolo will discuss ‘Building a successful brand,’ with aspiring business owners.

On day two of the exhibition, Saturday 20 March, Nick Smart, Vice President for Development UK & Ireland for Hilton Hotels and Brian Mullens, UK Finance Director with McDonald’s, will each share their experience and expertise in business. Nick’s presentation ‘Purchasing an international franchise brand’ will draw on his 25 years experience in the UK and US hospitality industry, and Brian will share the secrets to McDonald’s franchising success with ‘McDonald’s: A franchising model based on partnership’.

“The calibre of the keynote presenters’ within the extensive free seminar programme means visitors are advised to plan their visit to the event around the speaker sessions to ensure they get a seat,” advised Mike Seaman, Franchise Portfolio Manager for Venture Marketing Group, organisers of The British & International Franchise Exhibition.

The British Franchise Association (bfa) will also host a series of insightful seminars. Chaired and presented by senior figures in the industry from franchisees, franchisors, bank representatives, business consultants and Association representatives, the choice of topics on the conference agenda includes growing your own business, building a successful brand, international franchising, couples in franchising and hands-on franchises. The speaker sessions, which also include panel discussions, have been developed for all levels of franchising knowledge so delegates of any franchise knowledge-base can benefit from attending.

The British & International Franchise Exhibition boasts more than 100 local and international exhibitors, including the most viable and reputable franchise ventures McDonald’s, Snappy Snaps, Auditel, Platinum Property Partners, Signs Express and Hire A Hubby. The only London event endorsed by the bfa, the exhibition only features franchise enterprises that have met the Association’s code of ethics, so visitors can be confident in the business opportunities being presented to them.
