April 29, 2009 - The Franchise Paris Expo brought together nearly 400 companies from emblematic brands to emerging concepts in more than 75 sectors. There were many innovative and exciting concepts, particularly in fashion, confectionery, women’s fitness services, home wares and casual dining concepts. With 26,907 visitors, Franchise Expo Paris attracted healthy numbers despite the economic crisis. Where, the London Expo also presented some exciting new concepts particularly for young children and pets. Convenience stores, Pawn shops, Weight Loss, Contract cleaning, Fast Food and Business consulting were some more interesting concepts present at the Expo.
As part of London show, Franchise India also participated in the International Zone, where the best in franchising concepts from around the world gathered to share international concepts and best practice in franchising. A highly interactive round table session was held with the discussion topic of how franchisors and franchisees globally are having to alter their strategies due to the current business climate with overwhelming agreement announcing that its great time for the franchise industry to innovate, leverage cheaper advertising costs and capitalize on the availability of new, qualified investors due to company layoffs. From such events many opportunities emerge for the Indian franchise industry. The rising awareness and interest in India, as a country ripe for franchise concepts also bodes well for qualified local investors who are keen to participate with top international franchise brands to represent the concept in India and expand regionally.
