November 4, 2005 - Pizza Patrón, the premier Latino pizza brand, opened its first California location in Huntington Park on Sept. 6. The fast-growing pizza chain has development agreements for 20 restaurants in the Los Angeles area by January 1, 2008.
“Pizza Patrón has very successfully reached out to the Hispanic community in other parts of the country and we are certain that the restaurants will receive a warm reception from the Hispanic community here,” said Carlos Covarrubius, director of operations for Mas Pizza LLC, developer of Los Angeles’ 20 Pizza Patrón locations. “We already have seven L.A. locations under construction. Our next restaurant is scheduled to open in Maywood.”
Pizza Patrón’s core value is ‘Service to Community, Commitment to Value’ and the company has already reached out to the Huntington Park community by taking pizzas to local churches and participating in Sabor de Mexico Lindo – Downtown Festival, which pays tribute to the culture and heritage of Mexico.
“People in the community feel welcome at Pizza Patrón. The front of house staff and store operators are all fluently bilingual, the restaurants are uniquely vibrant and colorful and we play upbeat Latino music throughout the day. Most importantly though, our focus is to make each pizza excellent, every time,” said Covarrubius.
The Huntington Park store is located at 6043 Pacific Blvd. and is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to midnight on Fridays, noon to midnight on Saturdays and noon to 10 p.m. on Sundays. Call-in orders can be placed by calling 323-585-9100.
Pizza Patrón was founded by Antonio Swad in 1986. Since franchising began in March 2003, the brand has gone from four locations to 141, either open or under development. Pizza Patrón features fun and festive carryout-only pizza stores that are community based in Spanish speaking or predominately Hispanic neighborhoods and recently added its first dine-in location in May 2005. All pizza dough is made fresh throughout the evening; no preservatives are added or needed. As well, the sauce is prepared fresh in the stores from crushed Roma tomatoes and only 100 percent mozzarella is used. Whole and half pizzas are offered at prices as low as $4.99 for a large pizza with cheese and one topping and $3.49 for the same half pizza. A large “La Patrona” pizza with everything is only $6.99.
