May 13, 2008 - FranchiseCanada Magazine Named 2008 Canadian Newsstand Awards Finalist
(Toronto, ON) - The Canadian Franchise Association (CFA) is proud to announce that FranchiseCanada Magazine is a finalist for the 2008 Canadian Newsstand Awards. The magazine’s July/August 2007 issue is nominated in the Best Newsstand Issue, Small Magazine category.
“We’re thrilled to have FranchiseCanada included as a finalist in the Canadian Newsstand Awards,” says Lorraine McLachlan, CFA President and CEO and Publisher of FranchiseCanada. “We strive to create a first-class magazine for and about Canadian franchising and it is an honour to be recognized for the work of our team.”
In its seventh year of honouring Canada’s top magazines, the Canadian Newsstand Awards is a unique awards program that takes into account the title’s newsstand sales performance. Sales results are worth 50% of the final score, while the other 50% is based on qualitative factors judged by a panel. The five judges represent key players in the newsstand mix: a retailer, a wholesaler, a national distributor, a publisher and an art director.
Winners will be announced Tuesday, June 3 at a special reception during the Magazines University event in Toronto. All finalists’ covers may be viewed at www.newsstandawards.ca.
