March 7, 2008 - Pet Butler of Central Ohio, for its 20 years of service in the pet waste cleanup and removal industry. Pet Butler of Central Ohio proudly serves hundreds of customers each week, performing more than 50,000 yard cleanings a year. The company picked up more than one million piles of poop in central Ohio in 2007.

The company is currently owned by Pete Hulse, a long-time promoter of the pet waste cleanup community. As you might expect, a good amount of humor doesn’t hurt in this business. When asked why he went into poop scooping, Hulse replied, “I’ve always had a taste for the unusual. Scooping poop appealed to my sense of the unusual while being practical enough to pay the bills.”

Pets and pet owners aren’t the only ones that benefit from Pet Butler’s services. Many charities, pet rescues, and special events in the central Ohio area have received support from Pet Butler.

In early 2006, Pet Butler Franchise Services Corp., based in Dallas, and Pet Butler of Central Ohio merged, making Pete’s Ohio company part of a large and quickly-growing network of Pet Butler poop-scooping franchises across the country.

Although 20 years seems like a long time to some, Hulse believes that the industry is still very young. “I’ve been fortunate to get in on the ground floor. Sometimes I am the leader, and sometimes I follow bright young minds to places I could never reach by myself.”

Pet Butler of Central Ohio is also the proud recipient of the 2003 Angie’s List Super Service Award, the Corporate Kindness Award for work with the Capital Area Humane Society and the Black Tie Award from the Pooch Parade.

The Hulses also know something about pet ownership themselves. They are the proud owners of Ruby, a beagle. Hulse notes that Ruby was formerly the company’s Chief Morale Officer, but now she limits her duties to Treat Tester and best friend.

“Pete has been such an asset to the Pet Butler family. We couldn’t ask for a better role model and friend,” said Matt ‘Red’ Boswell, CEO (Chief Excrement Officer) of Pet Butler. “His positive attitude, benevolent spirit and love for Pet Butler are contagious to us all. We are very excited to celebrate this 20 year anniversary with Pet Butler of Central Ohio.”
