October 4, 2006 - Montreal, QC – CENTURY 21 Canada celebrated its 30-Year Anniversary at the annual CENTURY 21 Canadian Conference held this year in Montreal, QC. With near record-breaking attendance, the 2007 Conference was a huge success, boasting an impressive lineup of keynote speakers, a lively entertainment line up throughout, an exceptionally elegant awards event, and much more.

The Sales Associate of the Year and Franchisee of the Year for 2005 were each announced, in keeping with the CENTURY 21 tradition of recognizing outstanding System members who satisfy the requirements of nearly 20 qualifying categories. The 2005 Sales Associate of the Year is Don Wyld of CENTURY 21 Town & Country Realty Inc. in Kingston, ON, who has racked up 33 awards in various categories since he began with the CENTURY 21 System in 1997. Don Wyld is the founding member of the Military Relocation Network after having served 25 years in the Canadian Armed Forces and attributes his sensitivity towards movers’ needs in part to his having relocated his family over 19 times in his service years.

Taking home the 2005 Franchisee of the Year award was Vito Campanale of CENTURY 21 First Canadian Corp in London, ON. A nomination campaign for Campanale was initiated by a fellow CENTURY 21 franchisee who recognized that Campanale had narrowly missed receiving the prestigious award several times, having made the Top 5 Franchisee list for over five consecutive years, including the number two spot for two years in a row. Campanale opened his first CENTURY 21 office in 1995 and has since opened three branch locations in the London, ON, area.

This year’s keynote speakers included Jeremy Conaway, Tom Ferry, Clara Hughes, Peter Legge, and Roald Marth. This year’s lineup, considered to be the best ever, offered something for every attendee. The speakers’ topics and tones ranged from technology to trends, from inspirational to motivational, from business to personal tactics and audiences were taken from outrageous laughter to stirred emotions and back again throughout the speakers’ series.

The benchmark anniversary was celebrated at the Opening Session with a ceremonious cake cutting, involving Don Lawby, President and COO of CENTURY 21 Canada and Gary Charlwood, CEO of CENTURY 21 Canada. While the focus of the Conference was centered around forward-moving strides and future directions, a brief ‘looking back’ video played at the General Session had audiences reminiscing about the past 30 years since CENTURY 21’s inception. The montage included candid shots from past Conferences and events, early CENTURY 21 print ads, CENTURY 21 System members donning the famous gold jacket, and a variety of memorable moments captured on film that exude the family-like environment that CENTURY 21 has fostered for so many years.
