Ziebart International Corporation Promotes Michelle Chirco

Chirco Has Held Various Positions with Automotive Company over the Last Decade

Ziebart International Corporation, an automotive appearance and protection services brand, promoted Michelle Chirco to director of marketing. Starting as an intern with the company in 2011, she has steadily climbed the ladder and held positions in field marketing, customer relationship management, strategic planning and more. She believes that her mentors’ shared experiences and knowledge have prepared her for this role and a seat on the brand’s Management Committee.

“I am most looking forward to continuing to make an impact, not only in the four walls of the company, but with our franchisees and customers as well. I look forward to continuing to build relationships both internally and externally that will arm me with the knowledge I need to continue to serve this brand that I truly believe in,” Chirco says.

During her college internship at Ziebart, Chirco was impressed by the culture of the company. After being contacted for a part-time position in 2013, she signed on because she saw wide-open career opportunities at Ziebart.

Working with franchisees has helped her understand the business from their perspective, making it easier to optimize initiatives and tactics. She adds that it has been rewarding to develop relationships with these entrepreneurs and open lines of communication as they work toward a shared goal.

CEO Thomas A. Wolfe, in a statement about Chirco’s promotion, said, “Throughout her various roles at Ziebart, from intern to leader, Michelle has exemplified the dedication and innovative thinking that drives success within our company. With her expertise in both marketing and Ziebart, we have the utmost confidence in her ability to excel in her new position and significantly contribute to Ziebart’s growth on a global scale.”

Lifelong Love of Cars

Aside from living in Detroit her whole life, Chirco comes from a family of car lovers. Starting at a young age, she attended the Woodward Dream Cruise and helped her dad and brothers wash their cars. Her understanding of the passion some people have for their vehicles informed her decision to begin a career in the automotive industry.

She believes that while marketing trends constantly evolve, customer service never changes. “Understanding the customer journey and what needs your consumers have will always allow you to serve them better, whether it be online or in store. This is just one aspect that has always attracted me to marketing.” She says marketing has the power to influence perceptions of a brand and drive consumer behavior.

For Franchisee Candidates

In advice for aspiring entrepreneurs, she says to always keep learning and always keep nurturing relationships. One way to do this is to be active in industry organizations, which enable business owners to network with like-minded individuals. In addition to relationships, Chirco says that learning from others helps maintain a fresh perspective, stay on top of industry trends, and sustain a network to lean on when needed.

Chirco is a certified franchise executive and holds a position on the International Franchise Association Marketing Committee.
