When Noreen Connolly started her mobile IV therapy business during the height of COVID, she wasn’t thinking about franchising. She was just trying to meet a need. A longtime nurse practitioner with a PhD and over 30 years in healthcare, she wanted to help people feel better, faster. But lugging supplies across towns and circling city blocks looking for parking took its toll. “Mobile is just a lot of work,” she says. “I needed something more sustainable.”

So she rented a small suite in a salon building outside of Boston and launched what would eventually become The IV Hub Wellness, a low-overhead, high-impact franchise built around modern health services like IV hydration, medical weight loss and hormone therapy. It didn’t take long before the model proved successful. Clients were feeling better and word spread.

“I didn’t want to put a lot of money into something I wasn’t sure would work,” she says. “The salon suite model gave me a way to test the idea without huge risk. And once we saw results, I knew I had something I could replicate.”

A Scalable Franchise Model

Unlike traditional medspas, which require big buildouts and storefronts, The IV Hub Wellness keeps things simple and cost-effective. Franchisees rent space in salon suites — typically one or two units — and see clients without the stress and expense of managing a large staff or renting huge retail spaces.

Most locations just need one registered nurse on-site, and some add a medical assistant as business grows. “It’s all about referrals, results and relationship-building,” says Connolly. “Salon suites are usually filled with hairdressers and estheticians and have loyal clients. We give the suite professionals 10% off services; they love the results and they send their clients our way. It’s a win-win.”

The IV Hub Wellness offers a wide range of services centered around proactive health and self-care. IV therapy is the star of the show, whether it’s high-dose vitamin C, NAD for brain health and energy, glutathione for antioxidants or the Skinny Drip, a blend that helps boost metabolism. Membership-based weight loss programs are available as well as hormone therapy, peptide injections, supplements and even testing for food sensitivities and gut health.

Connolly is especially passionate about NAD therapy, which has gained widespread attention for its cognitive and anti-aging benefits, particularly on social media and among high-performance individuals. NAD therapy has become increasingly popular among celebrities and wellness enthusiasts. Public figures like Joe Rogan, Kendall Jenner, and Ben Greenfield have spoken publicly about using NAD infusions to enhance focus, energy and brain function.

Connolly recalls a client who traveled all the way from California to Boston for treatment after being diagnosed with early-onset dementia. “She was in her 40s, super smart and she told me NAD infusions were the only thing that helped her function at work,” Connolly says. “It gave her mental clarity and energy that lasted for days.”

Stories like that are what keep Connolly inspired. While the business is growing — two of her former nurses are now franchisees — her mission remains deeply personal. She believes that helping people feel better shouldn’t require a doctor’s referral, an insurance battle or months of waiting. “We’re cash-based, so if someone doesn’t qualify for coverage with their primary doctor, they can come to us,” she says.

The IV Hub Wellness Franchise Opportunity

The IV Hub Wellness franchise is designed to be approachable for a wide range of entrepreneurs. Franchise owners don’t need a medical background to get started. “One of our prospective franchisees is a young mom whose husband owns a garage,” she says. “Another is a single dad with four kids who’s been using our services and wants to invest. They’re people who believe in what we do.” Training includes hands-on instruction at Connolly’s Medford location and online learning modules, plus ongoing support. Franchisees are also given marketing help, including social media content and access to a daily posting service.

Connolly’s wellness philosophy is influenced by Harvard researcher Dr. David Sinclair, a leading expert in anti-aging. “We follow his research closely, especially around NAD and hormone health,” she says. “It helps guide the services we offer, and our clients appreciate that we’re evidence-based.”

With franchise locations already open in Massachusetts and more on the way, Connolly sees big potential ahead, especially as demand for wellness and preventive care continues to rise. According to Global Newswire, the preventive healthcare technologies and services market is expected to reach $773 billion by 2034. “This industry is exploding,” she says. “IV therapy, medical weight loss, anti-aging, it’s not just a trend. People are looking for real results, and they want to take charge of their health.”

She’s proud of what she’s built and even prouder of the impact her team is making. “Weight loss clients say we’ve changed their lives,” she says. “Long COVID patients feel normal again. And others just leave feeling better than they did when they walked in. That’s what it’s all about.”

For Connolly, the franchise is a way to give others the chance to do meaningful work while owning something of their own. “I built this to be shared,” she says. “I wanted other people to have the opportunity I had.”
