Fast-Food Franchises Make the Grade by Celebrating Educators with Specials and Discounts

May 5 kicks off Teacher Appreciation Week, an annual celebration of educators and their contributions to student success, which has been celebrated during the first full week of May since 1984. Teacher Appreciation Day on May 6 is the highlight of the week, commemorated annually in the U.S. on the first Tuesday in May. The holiday’s origin was in the 1950s when leaders including former First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt advocated for a day to honor teachers for their roles in shaping young minds.

Today, students typically give their teachers gift cards and other small gifts as tokens of appreciation during the first week of May. Fast-food franchises go to the head of the class by offering specials and discounts specifically for educators.

Read on for a compilation of fast-food brands participating in Teacher’s Appreciation Day and Teacher’s Appreciation Week.
