Schulman is Optimistic about the Future of the Recruiting and Staffing Industries
Spherion, a staffing and recruiting franchise, has promoted longtime team member Nanci Schulman to vice president of sales enablement and franchise relations. In this newly created role, Schulman will align sales tools and resources with organizational goals and business objectives, developing sales enablement programs, tools, resources and training to drive sales activity and support sales effectiveness.
Spherion was Schulman’s first job out of college in 1996. She said the recruiting and staffing franchise’s culture immediately resonated with her. “Over the past 28 years, I’ve had the chance to witness the organization evolve in various ways. Our network of franchisees has grown exponentially, which has led our team to develop and implement new processes and systems to better support our expanding network over time,” she said. “Even now as an established franchise brand, we are constantly looking for ways to better serve the needs of our franchisees while staying at the forefront of the staffing and recruiting industry and preparing for the future.”
Schulman said she is most excited to support franchisees’ sales effectiveness and continue to make connections with them and other corporate leadership members. “Being able to spend time with the franchisees, their teams and the corporate support team and the kind of unwavering mutual support we have for each other in and out of work is pretty special. I feel that and love it.”

President Kathy George said working alongside Schulman has been a pleasure. ”We’re extremely grateful to have her as a part of our team for so long and I know that she will continue to be instrumental to the organization in this new role,” George said. “We are honored to be able to elevate her to a position that allows her to utilize her strong relationships to help franchisees drive local sales during a critical time in the staffing and recruiting industries.”
The Future of Staffing and Recruiting
Schulman said she has enjoyed working in the staffing and recruiting industries because she can directly impact people’s lives. “Hearing stories about our clients’ journeys from our franchisees is very inspiring. And knowing that we’ve played a part in helping them achieve their goals and dreams is extremely gratifying.”
A Game-Changing Certification
A passionate member of the franchising community, Schulman completed the International Franchise Association’s Certified Franchise Executive (CFE) program in 2019, and she described the certification as personally and professionally meaningful. “It has allowed me to continue to learn and expand my knowledge of the franchise industry and has given me skills and expertise that have helped improve the support I provide to our franchisees. The CFE program has also provided me with an incredible network of franchise professionals with whom I can count on networking and collaborating.”
