The Tenured Staffing Executive Transitions from Spherion’s Parent Company, Randstad
Spherion, a staffing and recruiting franchise, has named Julie Hansen senior vice president. She has almost 30 years of experience at the staffing brand’s parent company, Randstad, and will collaborate closely with franchise owners to enhance their existing sales strategies.
“I’m most excited about the tremendous growth potential in this position, both for the company and the people we work with,” Hansen said. “We’re just beginning to tap into what’s possible, and I’m eager to see how we can help entrepreneurs flourish by connecting with their passions. The growth ahead is limitless, and being part of a team that’s focused on expansion and development is incredibly motivating. At its core, this role is about helping people develop their businesses, and that’s what truly drives me.”
Hansen cited Spherion’s creative, strategic and consultative approach to staffing as the brand’s major selling point. “Over time, I’ve been increasingly impressed by the strong reputation and the solid solutions that Spherion delivers,” she said. “The awards and accolades speak to the strength of the brand, which is especially meaningful in the staffing and recruiting franchise space. Spherion’s vision and commitment to giving back to the communities we serve is also something that deeply resonates with me.”
Spherion President Kathy George said Hansen’s journey through nearly every role in the staffing industry mirrors her own. “Her passion for team development and ability to align client needs with innovative solutions will be invaluable for advancing Spherion’s mission of growing local economies,” George said. “I’m excited to see the impact she will make both within our franchise community and beyond.”
Climbing the Ladder
Hansen’s career in the staffing industry has included work as a recruiter, office manager and business development leader, as well as multi-branch, district and regional leadership.
Her experience spans both in-office and on-premise operations, which she said gives her unique insight into meeting diverse client needs. “Learning the Spherion way and how it integrates with Randstad has given me the ability to leverage both sides of the business to drive growth across the entire organization,” Hansen said. “As we continue to move forward, we’re creating even more synergies, particularly with the advanced tools and resources we have access to from Randstad as a global brand. This enables us to better support our franchisees with data-driven insights, helping them gain market share, expand into national accounts and unlock even greater growth potential.”
Franchise Due Diligence
Hansen said she appreciates how franchising inspires entrepreneurs to unlock their creativity while obtaining strategic guidance. “I’m passionate about fostering continuous learning and development, coaching teams and helping both clients and franchise business owners create flexible workforce strategies that keep them agile in today’s ever-changing world,” she said.
Hansen said she makes it a point to tell entrepreneurs to do extensive research before investing in a franchise. “You must be willing to represent the brand you are a part of in a variety of circles, becoming synonymous with it,” she said. “Don’t be afraid to be the face and the voice of your franchise. Your leadership should reflect who you are and who you want to be in your market.”
When she isn’t helping franchise owners achieve their goals, Hansen enjoys playing tennis and spending time with her family. “I’m really competitive, which I think helps me excel in my role at Spherion,” she said.
