- The company has opened franchise locations in Tulsa, Oklahoma and Memphis, Tenn.

- Service Experts is giving different types of business owners a chance to grow with a leading national HVAC brand.
Building on its decades of success, Service Experts, one of the largest residential HVAC service companies in the U.S., is reaching milestones in its new franchise program. Within months of launching its franchising model in 2025, the company secured a locally owned franchise center in Tulsa, Okla., and then a second one in Memphis, Tenn., confirming the strong potential of the program.
“The interest in our franchise model validates that there’s real demand for a national HVAC brand that lets local owners lead and leverage the Service Experts playbook,” says Nick Ridgway (below), Vice President of Franchise Development for Service Experts. “Our focus has been on building the right foundation first. Franchising represents a long-term growth strategy for Service Experts.”
The first franchise owner, Trey Thomas-Piazza, had been the general manager of the corporate-owned Tulsa location and decided to take advantage of the new franchise program. The Memphis franchise is owned by Randy Joyner, an HVAC industry veteran who had more than 20 years of experience building and operating successful HVAC businesses before deciding to sign on with Service Experts.
Service Experts was formed in 1996 when a group of independent business owners realized that they would be stronger by joining forces and working together. Since then, the company has grown steadily and now has more than 75 corporate-owned service centers across 31 states, with more than 3,000 employees.
“For three decades, Service Experts has built a national operating platform and a reputation customers trust,” says Matthew Lefler, Vice President of Franchise Operations for Service Experts. Recognizing that it had the right tools to support new independent owners, the company decided to scale faster through franchising, relying on its proven operational systems, its brand recognition, and a strong territory strategy. Unlike many emerging brands, Service Experts offers a franchise opportunity based on a time-tested business plan that includes national partnerships, training infrastructure, and a differentiated business model.
A Subscription Model
One way that Service Experts differentiates itself from its competitors is through its unique Advantage Program. Based on the subscription model, the leasing program helps create sustainable growth for franchises by generating recurring revenue so that franchise owners are able to reduce dependency on seasonal demand and one-off jobs. The program creates a better experience for customers as well by eliminating upfront costs and a worry-free solution that minimizes surprise repair bills. Customers get new high-efficiency equipment, coverage for parts and labor, annual maintenance and round-the-clock emergency support with no charges for additional trips.
Service Experts franchise locations also offer the Maintenance+ Membership program that helps strengthen customer loyalty and provides a predictable revenue stream throughout the year. Members get a one-year guarantee on repair work, a 15 percent discount on repairs, regular preventive maintenance and guaranteed priority service along with other benefits.
To help Service Experts franchise owners succeed in the competitive home services market, the company provides the support they need. “Franchisees benefit from significant training, established processes, access to innovative product offerings, and a supportive organization committed to helping owners grow,” Lefler (below) says.
Service Experts provides a suite of technology tools that streamline business operations and customer management and offer real-time, in-depth data and analytics on a service center’s performance. Franchisees also receive assistance with marketing strategies, including proven systems for generating leads. And with the company’s bulk purchasing power and preferred supplier partnerships, franchise owners can get equipment at discounted rates.
Service Experts’ new franchise program offers a range of pathways to franchising for businesspeople in different situations:
- HVAC veterans who are interested in owning and operating a new or existing Service Experts location
- HVAC or Plumbing business owners who want to convert an independent HVAC service center into a Service Experts franchise to scale with the backing of a national brand and differentiate in the marketplace
- Entrepreneurs with leadership experience who are looking to break into the HVAC field with a leading company and want to open a franchise in a new territory
“Franchising allows us to expand through the right independent business owners, while keeping our quality standards consistent,” Ridgway says.
