Accomplished Senior Executive has Proven Track Record Leading Responsible Franchise Growth

K9 Resorts Luxury Pet Hotel, a leading dog boarding and day care franchise, has welcomed Scott Schubiger as chief growth officer. The accomplished senior executive has more than 30 years of experience in franchise sales, private equity and business development across multiple sectors. He is responsible for identifying qualified individuals to invest in the pet care franchise.

“I have been interested in K9 Resorts since meeting the founders, Jason and Steven Parker, at their original location a decade ago and have continued to admire the brand from afar,” Schubiger said. “Their passion and leadership, coupled with the brand’s commitment to excellence, truly stood out. I’m excited to help expand this beloved concept, bring in new franchise partners and fulfill the increasing demand for luxury pet care.”

Pet boarding is expected to become a $35.8 billion industry by 2031, according to Allied Market Research. Schubiger said K9 Resorts will continue to be a leader in the industry by improving upon its proven operational system. “Every detail is well thought out and vetted thoroughly at our corporate locations. The result is an elevated experience that all dogs deserve, while providing the dog owner with optimal peace of mind.”

Successful Track Record in Prudent Franchise Growth

Schubiger previously served as chief growth officer with The Picklr, an indoor pickleball franchise, where he played a key role in launching the brand in Canada, Japan, Australia and New Zealand, and bringing in 70-plus franchisees who developed more 500 units. His experience also includes leadership positions with NRD Capital, ZGrowth Partners, Massage Heights (now Heights Wellness Retreat), Lunchbox Wax, Snap Fitness, Rita’s Italian Ice and Realogy Corporation.

Jason Parker said Schubiger’s reputation, experience and passion for franchising make him an invaluable addition to the K9 Resorts team. “We are looking to level-up our franchise development goals over the next few years, and Scott is the right leader to help us scale with purpose,” Parker said.

Strategic Franchise Growth

Schubiger said prudent franchise growth begins with awarding franchises to candidates who are well capitalized and fit in well with the brand’s culture. “In a brand like K9 Resorts, we are all about quality over quantity to ensure our franchise partners are part of a like-for-like peer group.”

He said his master’s degree in sports psychology from Springfield College has helped him better understand franchise candidates. “I really try to put myself in their shoes and motivate them in ways that work best for them individually.”
