Bouthillette Praises the Private Equity Firm’s Focus on Fostering Relationships and Growth Opportunities
Princeton Equity Group, a private equity firm focused on investing in and growing franchisor and multi-location companies, has promoted Alex Bouthillette to vice president. Bouthillette, who joined the firm in 2023 as a senior associate, will focus on sourcing and executing new investments and serving on the boards of several Princeton portfolio companies. The private equity firm also has elevated Phil Piro to partner, Jack Nagle to principal and John Norwood to associate of business development.
Bouthillette cited Princeton’s focus on fostering long-term partnerships and meaningful growth opportunities as important strengths. “Princeton stood out for its deep industry expertise and incredible team. Since joining in 2023, Princeton has evolved by expanding its portfolio, processes and team, while staying true to its core investment thesis,” she said.
Bouthillette added that she is excited to collaborate with talented teams and support brands in reaching their full potential. “My primary goal is to drive sustainable growth for the companies we partner with, ensuring they are well-positioned for long-term success.”

Strategic Promotions
Jim Waskovich, managing partner of Princeton, said the promotions of Bouthillette and her colleagues reflect the depth of knowledge and leadership within the private equity firm. “Each of these individuals has played a significant role in our success, and we’re excited to further strengthen our ability to serve our portfolio companies with these well-deserved advancements,” Waskovich said.
Managing partner Doug Kennealey said he is confident that Bouthillette and her associates will enhance the firm’s efforts to identify opportunities and create value for its investments. “Princeton’s success relies on the dedication, expertise and leadership of our team, and their ability to execute strategies in place to drive and support the growth for our portfolio companies,” Kennealey said.
Princeton and Franchising
Bouthillette’s introduction to franchising came when she joined Princeton in 2023. “The franchise model helps passionate individuals achieve their business goals within a proven system,” she said. “Franchising thrives on relationships, and it’s rewarding to see both franchisors and franchisees succeed together.”
Princeton’s emphasis on identifying and supporting innovative, high-potential brands will ensure that the firm continues to play a key role in franchising, she said. “Through strategic investments and a collaborative approach, we aim to elevate the companies we partner with and drive growth while maintaining a focus on quality and values,” she said.
Bouthillette’s professional background includes serving as an associate at Kainos Capital, where she focused on executing transactions in the consumer sector and providing portfolio company support. She also has experience as an investment banking analyst at Simmons Energy and holds bachelor’s degrees from the University of Texas at Austin in finance and business honors, and Plan II liberal arts honors.
During her free time, Bouthillette loves the outdoors, travel, health and fitness. “I enjoy finding ways to integrate my personal interests into my professional endeavors wherever possible,” she said.
