Entrepreneur Glenn Leingang’s Position Comes Amid the Pest Control Brand’s 10th Anniversary in Franchising
ohDEER, an all-natural deer, tick and mosquito control franchise, has named Glenn Leingang president. As the pest control franchise’s first-ever president, he will increase brand awareness and educate candidates about the business. The announcement comes amid ohDEER’s 10th year of franchising.
“My goal is to bring a fresh perspective to ohDEER and build on its already impressive franchise development track record. I look forward to connecting with potential franchise prospects seeking an established and successful business ownership opportunity at a time when a growing number of homeowners and policymakers are demanding 100% natural pest care solutions,” Leingang said in a statement.
Sweet Serendipity
He discovered the pest control brand serendipitously. Colleague and friend Madeleine Zook, owner of the FRANCAREERS talent platform, told him about the brand when it contracted her company for its services. Leingang wasn’t looking for opportunities in the pest control industry but was impressed with the way ohDEER differs from its competitors: all-natural products, oversaturation spraying methods, positive customer service reviews and a recurring revenue model. “I believe our best days are ahead of us as we continue to build on the foundation that [co-founders] Kurt and Colleen Upham have laid for us at ohDEER.”

Colleen Upham released a statement praising Leingang’s leadership qualities and extensive experience. “Glenn is precisely the leader we are looking to add to our team at a pivotal time for our company. His qualities and sales experience make him an excellent fit to propel ohDEER franchise development to the next level and strengthen our presence in new and key markets.”
Following a System
As his initial foray into franchising, Leingang bought a Quiznos sandwich franchise. Although he’d never worked in the restaurant industry before, he followed the brand’s franchising model and later sold the business for a profit. He then became enamored with franchising and worked on the franchisor side for over 15 years. Following the sale of the food franchise business, Leingang served as regional vice president at United Franchise Group and chief development officer at Generator Supercenter.
