Halverson’s Professional Background Includes 30-Plus Years of Staffing and Franchising Experience

AtWork, a Tennessee-based staffing franchise, has named Nancy Halverson vice president of professional services. Halverson is responsible for leading AtWork Professional, which was launched in early 2026 as a fully remote, low-cost franchise opportunity focused on specialized recruiting for contract staffing and direct-hire solutions. She spearheads development of the division’s franchise model, training programs, operational systems and market strategy.

“AtWork Professional will thrive because we have a team that challenges one another while respecting each other’s ideas and experiences,” Halverson said. “We find that sweet spot of collaboration to build strong systems that support not only today’s needs, but also the brand’s continued growth.

AtWork’s commitment to brand diversification — combined with the time and due diligence invested in executing it at the right moment — reflects a disciplined, strategic approach. Its focus on securing appropriate funding and ensuring strong operational support further underscores a thoughtful foundation for long-term success.”

Halverson began discussions in 2021 with the leadership team about the concept for AtWork Professional and her potential role. “After spending a day with the team, I was inspired by their passion for franchising and staffing, which reflected a culture I knew I wanted to be part of,” she said. “This experience reinforced the value of nurturing your network. Timing truly is everything, and when you believe in the company, its mission and its people, taking swift action becomes an easy decision.”

Jason Leverant, president and COO of AtWork, said Halverson’s extensive staffing and franchising experience make her ideal for this role. “AtWork Professional represents a natural evolution of our brand and the needs of today’s workforce,” Leverant said. “We’re confident this new offering will create meaningful opportunities for our franchise owners while delivering high-value talent solutions to clients.”

Halverson’s Approach to Franchising

Halverson credits leaders with whom she has worked throughout her career for preparing her for this role. “With each leader came new ideas, new approaches, new technology and new investments. All of that led to a solid launching pad at AtWork.”

Halverson’s time in franchising has also given her an appreciation for entrepreneurs who see business ownership as more than a job. “As owners, they pour their hearts, souls, time and investments into the business to be successful,” she said. “I find franchisees much more willing to listen, follow and invest emotionally, financially and operationally than those with the security of a corporate paycheck. Celebrating both successes and challenges as an extension of them is what energizes me.”
