At Medi-Weightloss, passion fuels everything — from patient care to franchisee support. Whether it’s helping clients lower their blood pressure, regain energy or simply feel more confident in their own skin, the team behind this growing brand is driven by a shared mission: to change lives through responsible, science-based weight loss. That passion starts at the top. CEO Brian Petranick and COO Charolette Obringer lead with a clear purpose and a franchisee-first mindset. “We are helping people achieve their weight loss and wellness goals, which is truly meaningful,” says Petranick. “Our owners and their teams are truly passionate about what they do. Helping people get healthy is life-changing — not just for the patient, but for everyone involved in their care. That’s what makes this business so fulfilling.”

“Throughout the franchise system, we have a consistent focus on patient care and connection to our mission,” says Obringer. “At the home office, we have a culture of continuous improvement. We’re always thinking about what else we can do to help our franchisees be more successful. We are constantly raising the bar so we can help more people get healthy and help more franchise owners thrive.” Every Medi-Weightloss patient begins their journey with a body composition analysis. From there, a licensed provider builds a custom plan based on their needs. Patients receive weekly support and guidance, with clinical oversight every step of the way.

A Unique Program

The program is a combination of nutrition, behavior modification, physical activity guidance, and access to medications (including natural and pharmaceutical GLP-1 options used to treat type 2 diabetes and promote weight loss).

“What we do is really differentiated because it’s responsible weight loss,” says Petranick. “Our programs are science-backed, data-informed and overseen by true medical providers. That’s how we deliver fast, safe and lasting results. Our Net Promoter Scores [a customer satisfaction metric resulting in a score between -100 and +100] are in the mid to high 80s. That tells us we’re delivering care that’s not only effective, but also deeply valued.”

Since its founding in 2005, Medi-Weightloss has grown to more than 100 locations across the U.S. The brand recently teamed up with REP’M Group to help further its expansion by providing strategic growth, support and guidance. New franchisees are guided every step of the way, from staffing to operations. “We provide a full HR toolkit with job descriptions, interview guides, everything,” says Petranick. “Our hiring platform and training resources help owners build strong local teams that share our mission. Our team also attends every new clinic opening to ensure the staff is fully prepared. It’s all about building confidence before the first patient walks through the door.”

Marketing support is just as robust. A nine-member in-house team offers content creation, digital strategy and campaign management. “We help franchisees allocate their marketing dollars where they’ll make the biggest impact,” says Obringer. “And our grassroots playbook gives them tools to build lasting relationships in their communities.”

Medi-Weightloss clinics generate recurring revenue through weekly visits and insurance billing. Most claims are fully reimbursed within 30 days, with 98.3% paid in full, says Petranick. Owners don’t need a medical background, just a passion for helping others and a commitment to the business.

Franchisee Involvement

“Engagement is key,” says Obringer. “The owners who grow quickly are the ones who are involved in their business, invest in local marketing and inspire their teams. There’s a direct correlation between local marketing investment and profitability. When owners are mission-driven and operationally disciplined, the business compounds on itself very quickly.”
