On Monday, which is World Kindness Day, the early birds will not be getting worms. Nope, the first 500 customers at participating Krispy Kreme stores can score 12 of those melt-in-your-mouth original glazed doughnuts free for the asking on Nov. 13. No purchase is required.
Krispy Kreme, in return, is getting tons of buzz online as it aims to inspire and enable kindness in others – in fact, the news is going viral. Within a few hours of announcing the giveaway, it already had made headlines on USA Today, Businesswire.com, Yahoo, Allrecipes.com, Asbury Park Press, Foodsided.com, Triangleonthecheap.com, Livingonthecheap.com, and Facebook… The news is spreading by the minute.
Inspiring Kindness
“World Kindness Day is an opportunity to make a positive difference by being generous, from paying it forward to meaningfully connecting with each other. Simple gestures of caring and thanks, including sharing a sweet treat, is a great way to do that,” Global Chief Brand Officer Dave Skena said in announcing the initiative on Wednesday. “We hope a dozen Original Glazed doughnuts – one doughnut for you and many to share with others – will inspire millions of small acts of kindness.”
Other Krispy Kreme locations around the world – the brand has a presence in more than 30 countries, according to Allrecipes.com will offer a similar deal on World Kindness Day to inspire people to connect with each other in kindness. Sharing food is an act of friendship and love among all cultures, after all.
Krispy Kreme Fall Doughnuts
Of course, when you visit a Krispy Kreme store to pick up your box of free doughnuts for World Kindness Day, the franchise has its sticky fingers crossed that you’ll sample part of its Flavors of Fall collection of confections: Caramel Pecan Brownie doughnut, Classic Blackberry Crisp filled doughnut and Cinnamon Latte Lover doughnut. All three of the innovative treats are available for purchase in person, online and for delivery through Thanksgiving Day.
And Krispy Kreme also has rolled out special autumn-inspired doughnuts at select U.S. grocery stores. Those fall-flavored sweets are Pumpkin Spice Cake and Spiced Apple doughnuts, which are sold in an assorted Krispy Kreme six-pack.
