The Jamba® brand has introduced a new restaurant prototype, Hello Sunshine, with an eye toward expanding the franchise. Hello Sunshine will lean into technological efficiency with customer ordering kiosks and digital marketing screens. The prototype also presents a smaller Jamba store footprint that will nurture both innovation and maximum productivity.

“With the introduction of the Hello Sunshine prototype, we are not just investing in the future of our brand and our franchisees, but also in the experience of every guest who walks through our doors,” Jamba Chief Brand Officer Nathan Louer said in a news release announcing Hello Sunshine. “We want Hello Sunshine to shine through in how we treat our guests, the products we serve, and the spaces they walk into.”

Advantages for Franchisees

Louer went on to say that “this innovative design enhances the customer experience while driving operational and cost efficiencies. We are committed to providing our franchisees with the resources and incentives they need to thrive, ensuring the continued growth and revitalization of our iconic brand.”

To make the Hello Sunshine prototype even more enticing to future franchisees, Jamba is offering limited-time incentives for franchise agreements executed by Dec. 15. In its coverage of the new Hello Sunshine prototype, RestaurantDive.com disclosed that the incentives are discounts to the royalty and advertising rates.

Jamba’s Hello Sunshine

Here are some of Jamba’s Hello Sunshine characteristics that franchisees and customers can expect to discover about the new restaurant prototype:

  • Marketing consistency. Jamba’s signature shade of orange, along with Hello Sunshine branding, will be featured throughout each of the new restaurants. The prototype has scalable exterior signage that assures enhanced visibility across all store formats while emphasizing brand identity.
  • Frictionless customer experience. The prototype layout features freestanding kiosks and grab-and-go areas. Digital order pickup zones will decrease wait times and expedite fulfillment of online orders, a perk that will keep busy customers coming back.
  • Heightened customer engagement. Interior “pause points” capture attention with strategically placed product displays and information. These are designed to tantalize customers, encourage add-on purchases and boost sales.
  • Preparation visibility. Hello Sunshine can showcase the quality of Jamba ingredients by assembling foods and beverages while customers look on. This theater of preparation is integral to the appeal of both Jamba and Hello Sunshine, the news release stated.
  • Franchisee-friendly design. Hello Sunshine can adapt to various sites and store formats, such as drive-thru-equipped restaurants and smaller, high-traffic sites such as airports and hospitals.

Smoothie Market Overview

Jamba is a major player in the global smoothies market, which was valued at more than $12.3 billion in 2023, according to Polaris Market Research. The firm predicted that the global smoothie market will post a compound annual growth rate of 9.6% through 2032.

Fruit-based smoothies, a Jamba staple, dominated the global market, according to Polaris, and earn points for nutrition because of their vitamin, mineral and antioxidant content. That satisfies consumers’ growing desire for quick, tasty food choices that are healthy, including a shift toward plant-based food sources, Polaris Market Research stated. Its report added that the smoothie marketplace can reap maximum advantage from this consumer trend “by offering innovative flavors, customizable options, and appealing to a global fitness and wellness culture, making it a dynamic and thriving segment in the beverage industry.”
