Franchise news - International Franchise Expo Set for May 30-June 1 in NYC

Annual Conference Will Introduce Entrepreneurs to Franchises

The International Franchise Expo, which offers free registration, will showcase established and emerging franchise brands from May 30 to June 1 at New York City’s Javits Center. MFV Expositions and Comexposium will host this annual event for the 33rd time, connecting visitors from more than 120 countries with 300-plus exhibiting franchise brands.

The growth of franchise businesses is robust, according to the International Franchise Association’s 2024 Economic Outlook report prepared by independent research organization FRANdata. The report predicts that franchising will grow by 15,000-plus units this year while adding 221,000 jobs in the United States.

Martin Joksimovic, president of MFV Expositions, stated in a news release that this conference presents a one-stop shop “for exploring diverse franchise concepts, forging strategic partnerships, and capitalizing on emerging trends shaping the future of business ownership.” Among the hundreds of exhibitors will be Ace Handyman Services, Amazing Lash Studio, Anytime Fitness, BatteriesPlus, Captain D’s, Charley’s Cheesesteaks & Wings, Checkers, Dill Dinkers, Drybar, Jani-King, Mathnasium Learning Centers, Merry Maids, Nathan’s Famous, On the Border, Poke Bowl, PrimoHoagies, The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill, Two Men and a Truck and World Gym… to name just a few.

In the same news release, Matt Haller, CEO and president of the IFA, said that “behind franchising’s significant economic impact are the small business owners who make up the franchise community.” He added that the annual New York expo will allow “entrepreneurial individuals to connect with growing brands eager to welcome new partners looking to serve their communities.”

The International Franchise Expo’s opportunities, educational events and exhibits will include:

  • Morning Masterminds and Mimosas with Benetrends Financial. On May 31, before the exhibit hall opens, exhibiting franchisors may attend this roundtable discussion that will delve into groundbreaking ideas and insights about franchise marketing, finance, legal issues, business development and more.
  • The Emerging Pavilion. Brands with 10 or fewer units will exhibit in this bustling area of the trade show.
  • Seminars, workshops and panel discussions. Attendees may take part in about 70 educational seminars on topics such as networking, education and business development. Workshops and panel discussions will also cover an array of subjects such as comprehensive tips for buying a franchise; minorities in franchising; steps in franchising a business; and a primer on franchising that emphasizes incentives for military veterans, women and entrepreneurs from underserved communities.
  • A business resource center. Vendors and suppliers that serve the franchising community will meet and greet from this dedicated area of the expo floor.
  • IFE Unplugged. Franchising’s Jack Monson of Social Geek Radio will do live podcast interviews from the trade show floor.
